Focus on academic and administrative departments
Assumption University's sponsored roles tend to cluster in faculty and specialized administrative positions. Target departments aligned with your field of expertise and look for postings that explicitly mention visa sponsorship eligibility to improve your chances.
Understand the H-1B timeline before applying
Assumption University sponsors H-1B visas, but university hiring cycles and USCIS filing deadlines must align. Apply well before the April H-1B cap season to give HR enough lead time to prepare and file a petition on your behalf.
Highlight your specialty occupation credentials clearly
Religious and liberal arts institutions scrutinize specialty occupation requirements carefully. Make sure your degree field directly matches the role you're applying for, a clear degree-to-job alignment strengthens Assumption's case when filing your H-1B petition.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship during the offer stage
Assumption University has sponsored permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. If long-term stability matters to you, raise Green Card sponsorship in salary negotiations or after receiving an offer, not during early interview rounds.
Leverage OPT and CPT as a foot in the door
Assumption sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible to international students early in their careers. Use a practical training period to build internal relationships and demonstrate value before pursuing H-1B sponsorship through the university.
Search for open roles with confirmed sponsorship history
Not every job posting at Assumption University will flag visa sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving time and helping you prioritize applications where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
