- Able to demonstrate basic computer skills, math and problem-solving; mechanical, numerical, and verbal aptitude to learn our jobs quickly
- Successfully complete a pre-employment mechanical aptitude test and interview process
- Successful completion of background check, physical and drug screening is required
- Must be able to read and follow, weight fractions of ounces, and measure accurately by gallons, pints, and ounces (good math skills)
- Must be able to use various forms of PPE including respiratory protection
- Ability to use hand tools and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Lifting, walking, standing, pushing, and pulling
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate in an Operator position will be trained in all facets paint mix room operation (Mixing, sampling, testing paint) to learn these essential duties of the position
- The incumbent must operate production equipment safely to ensure the highest quality and correct quantity in accordance with the production schedule, standard operating procedures, and supervisory instructions
- Operators will understand the mechanics of how to operate various types of equipment with confidence
- Solve routine problems associated with job responsibilities
- Performs all duties in a safe working manner, following all of Axalta's safety policies and procedures
- Blend and mix toners to designated formula (by hand and using a mix machine)
- Control paint viscosities and tank levels
- Record and document all pertinent information when completing mixes
- Make sure work area is cleaned up
- Operate mix machine and paint delivery systems
- Directly responsible for housekeeping and control of waste generation
- Ability to work schedule with assigned overtime.
