Align your degree to retail buying functions
Belk's Sales Coordinator roles typically require a degree in merchandising, business, or a related field. Confirm your credentials map to a specialty occupation before applying, since that alignment is what USCIS evaluates for H-1B eligibility.
Target Belk's regional store clusters strategically
Belk operates primarily in the Southeast, so coordinator openings concentrate in Charlotte and regional markets. Focusing your search geographically improves your chances of landing a role where the hiring team is already familiar with sponsorship workflows.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Belk's open roles by sponsorship type
Belk posts Sales Coordinator positions across multiple visa categories. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles matching your visa type, so you spend time only on positions where your authorization status is already a confirmed fit.
Prepare your OPT or CPT documentation for coordinator onboarding
Retail employers like Belk move quickly from offer to start date. Have your EAD card, I-20, and any STEM OPT extension approval ready so HR can complete E-Verify verification without delays that could push back your first day.
Clarify PERM sponsorship eligibility during final interviews
Belk has sponsored Green Cards through PERM for retail coordinator roles. If long-term permanent residency is your goal, raise the question directly during offer negotiations rather than assuming it will be offered after hiring.

Does Belk sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Coordinators?
Yes, Belk sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Coordinator positions. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when it requires a degree in merchandising, business administration, or a related field. Your employer files the petition with USCIS after obtaining a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL, so confirm the timeline with HR once you receive an offer.
How do I apply for Sales Coordinator jobs at Belk?
Applications go through Belk's careers portal, where coordinator openings are listed by department and location. You can also browse verified Sales Coordinator listings at Belk on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship. Tailor your resume to highlight merchandising support, vendor coordination, or retail buying experience, since those functions are central to what Belk evaluates at this level.
Which visa types does Belk commonly use for Sales Coordinator roles?
Belk has sponsored Sales Coordinators under H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT programs, as well as employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 students in STEM-related business programs may be eligible for OPT or STEM OPT extension periods while Belk processes longer-term sponsorship.
What qualifications does Belk expect for a sponsored Sales Coordinator role?
Belk typically looks for a bachelor's degree in merchandising, business, marketing, or fashion retail, combined with experience supporting buying or planning functions. Proficiency with retail systems and vendor communication is common in job descriptions. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree field should correspond directly to the coordinator duties, since USCIS requires a clear connection between your educational background and the specialty occupation classification.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Belk to sponsor my H-1B before my OPT expires?
If your OPT expires before October 1, the standard H-1B cap-subject start date, you need cap-gap protection, which automatically extends your F-1 status if your OPT end date falls between April 1 and September 30 and your employer filed your H-1B petition before OPT expired. Start conversations with Belk's HR team early in the hiring process so the petition is filed during the April registration window, giving you enough runway.
