Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nursing Jobs at Benefis Health System Jobs
Verify Your Credentials Meet Montana Requirements
Before applying, confirm your nursing license is eligible for endorsement in Montana through the NURSYS database. Foreign-educated nurses often need a credential evaluation from CGFNS before the Montana Board of Nursing will issue licensure, so start this process early.
Target Units With Persistent Staffing Gaps
Benefis consistently posts openings across med-surg, ICU, and emergency nursing. Focusing your application on high-demand inpatient units improves your odds of finding a hiring manager with both budget and urgency to move forward with a sponsored candidate.
Ask Directly About Sponsorship During Screening
Regional health systems sometimes handle sponsorship case by case rather than through a centralized policy. During your first recruiter call, ask specifically which visa types Benefis has filed for nursing roles so you can align your eligibility to their existing process.
Understand the EB-3 Timeline for Nurses
Many healthcare employers use the EB-3 immigrant visa pathway for foreign nurses, which requires PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS adjudicates your petition. This process can span one to several years, so start conversations with Benefis well before your current status expires.
Prepare NCLEX Passage and Visa Screen Documentation Together
For TN or H-1B nursing roles at a U.S. hospital, you'll need both a valid NCLEX pass result and a VisaScreen certificate from CGFNS. Lining up both documents before you receive an offer removes a common delay that causes employers to withdraw sponsorship commitments.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Nursing Roles
Searching for sponsorship-friendly nursing positions at regional health systems can be slow through general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter directly for Benefis Health System nursing jobs by visa type so you're only reviewing roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.

Find Nursing at Benefis Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Benefis Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Benefis Health System has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles. The H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, which registered nursing roles can meet depending on the unit and required qualifications. Because Benefis is a regional health system rather than a large academic medical center, it's worth confirming sponsorship availability directly with their recruiter for the specific role you're targeting.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Benefis Health System?
You can search and apply for nursing positions directly through Benefis Health System's careers portal on their website. Migrate Mate also indexes open nursing roles at Benefis and lets you filter by visa sponsorship type, which makes it easier to identify positions where international candidates are actively considered. Either route, tailor your application to highlight your clinical specialty and any U.S. clinical experience.
Which visa types does Benefis Health System commonly use for Nursing roles?
Benefis has sponsored nurses through several pathways including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nurses), J-1 for exchange visitor programs, and both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. The EB-3 is particularly common for internationally educated nurses because it accommodates the PERM labor certification process that many healthcare employers already have workflows for. F-1 OPT and CPT are also options for nurses still completing U.S. nursing programs.
What qualifications does Benefis Health System expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
Benefis typically requires a valid Registered Nurse license in Montana or eligibility to obtain one, plus an active BLS certification and NCLEX passage. For internationally educated nurses, a credential evaluation through CGFNS and a VisaScreen certificate are standard prerequisites before a visa petition can move forward. Specialty units such as ICU or emergency may require additional certifications like ACLS or PALS and a minimum amount of relevant clinical experience.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Nursing role at Benefis Health System?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa category. H-1B standard processing through USCIS can take three to six months, with premium processing available to accelerate adjudication to around 15 business days. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship through PERM takes substantially longer, often one to three or more years from labor certification through visa availability. Starting your application and credentialing documentation well before your current work authorization expires is essential.
