Frame your credentials around BCG's delivery model
BCG Solution Managers are expected to own workstreams end-to-end, not just advise. Tailor your resume to show project ownership, client-facing delivery, and cross-functional coordination rather than purely analytical or research output.
Target BCG's practice area recruiting cycles early
BCG typically recruits Solution Managers through practice-specific pipelines, not just general applications. Identify which practice area aligns with your background, as technology, digital, and operations practices have historically shown stronger international hiring activity.
Clarify LCA wage levels during offer negotiation
BCG must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your H-1B petition, certifying your salary meets prevailing wage for your role and location. Request the wage level your LCA will be filed at during the offer stage to avoid surprises after signing.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Solution Manager roles at BCG
BCG posts Solution Manager openings across multiple channels, and not all surface in standard job boards filtered by sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to find BCG roles specifically tagged for visa sponsorship eligibility without manually screening each listing.
Prepare for BCG's case interview format before any sponsorship conversation
At BCG, offer conversations about visa sponsorship only happen after you clear the case interview process. Prioritize passing the case rounds first. Raising sponsorship requirements before an offer is in hand can stall your candidacy at many consulting firms, including BCG.

Find Solution Manager at Boston Consulting Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor H-1B visas for Solution Managers?
Yes, BCG sponsors H-1B visas for Solution Manager roles. BCG is a cap-subject H-1B employer, so petitions are subject to the annual lottery and the October 1 start date. If you're already on F-1 OPT, your OPT period needs to cover the gap between your start date and H-1B activation. BCG also sponsors E-3 visas for Australian nationals and TN status for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying roles.
Which visa types does Boston Consulting Group commonly use for Solution Manager roles?
BCG sponsors several visa categories for Solution Managers, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA, and H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for candidates transitioning from academic programs. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the hiring process.
What qualifications and experience does Boston Consulting Group expect for Solution Manager roles?
BCG typically expects Solution Managers to have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, business, or a related discipline, along with demonstrable experience managing technology or consulting projects. Many candidates come from prior consulting, product management, or enterprise software roles. Strong client communication skills and the ability to manage delivery under ambiguity are consistently prioritized over purely technical backgrounds.
How do I apply for Solution Manager jobs at Boston Consulting Group?
You can apply directly through BCG's careers portal or find open Solution Manager roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. BCG's hiring process typically involves an application review, recruiter screen, and multiple case and behavioral interview rounds before an offer is extended. Identifying which practice area aligns with your background before applying increases your chances of reaching the right recruiting team.
How do I time my job search at BCG around the H-1B filing calendar?
USCIS opens H-1B registrations in March each year, with the lottery drawn shortly after. BCG would need to register you before that window, which means securing an offer by late February at the latest for an October 1 start. If you miss the lottery, BCG may be able to keep you active on OPT while you re-enter the following cycle, but this depends on your remaining authorized status and your OPT expiration date.
