Frame your EDA knowledge before applying
Cadence sells highly technical products to engineers. Recruiters screen Sales candidates for familiarity with electronic design automation concepts, so document any exposure to EDA tools, semiconductor workflows, or ASIC design cycles in your resume before you submit.
Target accounts-based Sales roles strategically
Cadence structures its Sales org around named enterprise accounts in semiconductors and aerospace. Roles tied to strategic accounts at companies like Intel, Qualcomm, or TSMC suppliers tend to have longer hiring cycles, giving you more runway to align your visa timeline with the offer process.
Confirm H-1B cap timing with your recruiter early
USCIS H-1B cap registrations open each March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a Cadence offer outside that window, ask explicitly whether they will file for the next cap season or pursue a cap-exempt path through a university partner.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Cadence Sales roles
Cadence posts Sales openings across geographies and they fill quickly. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Cadence Sales positions that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to verified openings rather than relying on job boards that strip sponsorship details.
Prepare your credentials for PERM before promotion talks
If Cadence moves you toward a Green Card via PERM, DOL requires documenting the minimum requirements for your specific Sales role. Gather transcripts, employment verification letters, and any technical certifications now, before a formal PERM audit creates time pressure.
Negotiate a start date that clears your grace period
If you're transitioning from another employer, your 60-day grace period after termination is fixed. Make sure Cadence's proposed start date and H-1B transfer filing timeline are aligned so you maintain continuous authorized status without a gap.

Find Sales at Cadence Design Systems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Cadence Design Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Cadence Design Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Sales positions. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions across its go-to-market functions, including field sales, account management, and solutions engineering roles that support its EDA and semiconductor IP business. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening, so confirm with your recruiter before advancing.
Which visa types does Cadence Design Systems commonly use for Sales positions?
Cadence primarily uses the H-1B for Sales hires who need initial work authorization. For longer-term employees on an immigrant visa path, the company has utilized EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. Sales roles that require a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field typically support both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa filings.
What qualifications does Cadence Design Systems look for in Sales candidates who need sponsorship?
Cadence typically looks for Sales candidates with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, combined with enterprise sales experience in semiconductors, EDA software, or adjacent hardware markets. Roles in solutions engineering or application sales also require hands-on familiarity with chip design workflows. A purely business-focused background without technical depth is less competitive for H-1B sponsorship because the specialty occupation requirement demands a direct degree-to-role connection.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Cadence Design Systems?
Apply directly through Cadence's careers portal, where Sales roles are listed by region and product line. You can also find open Cadence Sales positions that explicitly include visa sponsorship by searching Migrate Mate, which filters listings by sponsorship availability. When you apply, tailor your materials to the specific Cadence product line the role covers, whether that is digital full-flow, custom IC, or systems analysis, since generic Sales resumes move more slowly through their screening process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I receive a Sales offer from Cadence?
For an H-1B transfer from another employer, USCIS allows you to start work once the petition is filed, with processing ranging from a few weeks with premium processing to several months on the regular track. For a new H-1B cap-subject filing, the October 1 start date is fixed, so an offer made in late spring or summer may require waiting up to a year. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically adds two to three years beyond the initial visa approval, depending on your priority date and country of birth.
