Frame Your Credentials for U.S. Specialty Occupation Standards
H-1B eligibility requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field is a normal requirement. Counseling, education, psychology, or a related discipline strengthens your case over a general degree.
Target Crimson's High-Volume Hiring Cycles
Crimson Education recruits Education Counselors in waves tied to admissions seasons. Applying in late summer or early fall positions you ahead of peak hiring, giving more lead time for H-1B cap filing before the April 1 registration window opens.
Demonstrate Subject-Matter Depth Beyond General Advising
Crimson values counselors with expertise in specific admission ecosystems, such as U.S. Ivy League, UK Oxbridge, or med school pathways. Positioning yourself as a specialist in one pipeline, rather than a generalist, makes sponsorship easier to justify internally.
Clarify Sponsorship Willingness Before Final Interview Rounds
Ask directly during recruiter screening whether H-1B sponsorship is available for the specific Education Counselor vacancy you're applying for. Crimson's global structure means sponsorship decisions can vary by team, region, or headcount approval.
Understand the H-1B Timeline Before Accepting an Offer
If you're outside H-1B status, USCIS requires registration in March and cap-subject approval before you can start. Build at least six months of buffer into your expected start date conversation with Crimson's hiring team to avoid misaligned expectations.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles Filtered by Sponsorship
Searching broadly across job boards wastes time on roles that won't sponsor. Migrate Mate lets you filter Education Counselor openings at Crimson Education specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so every application you send is already a realistic opportunity.

Find Education Counselor at Crimson Education JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Crimson Education sponsor H-1B visas for Education Counselors?
Yes, Crimson Education has sponsored H-1B visas for Education Counselor roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every open position, so confirm with the recruiter early in the process. Because H-1B is cap-subject, timing matters: USCIS registration opens in March, and your start date needs to account for the October 1 cap-subject start date.
How do I apply for Education Counselor jobs at Crimson Education?
You can browse and apply for Education Counselor positions at Crimson Education through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your application to highlight experience with specific admissions pipelines, such as U.S. or UK university systems. Crimson recruits globally, so remote and in-person openings both appear across their listings.
Which visa types are commonly used for Education Counselor roles at Crimson Education?
The H-1B is the primary work visa Crimson Education has used for Education Counselors. Australian citizens may also explore the E-3 visa as an alternative with no lottery requirement. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT can often start immediately while an H-1B petition is pending, provided the employer files on time.
What qualifications does Crimson Education expect for Education Counselor roles?
Crimson typically expects a bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field, along with direct experience guiding students through competitive admissions processes. Familiarity with U.S. college applications, standardized testing structures, or postgraduate admissions adds meaningful weight. Prior experience at a tutoring company, university admissions office, or similar education services firm is a strong differentiator.
How do I plan my timeline if Crimson Education agrees to sponsor my H-1B?
Once you have a signed offer, your employer's immigration attorney files the H-1B registration with USCIS during the March window. If selected in the lottery, the full petition is filed by June 30 for an October 1 start date. Plan for a gap of several months between offer and your first day, and clarify with Crimson whether they cover legal fees.
