Frame your counseling experience around outcomes
Crimson evaluates Admissions Counselors on measurable student results, not just advising hours. Quantify acceptance rates, schools targeted, and essay improvement in your resume before applying so your track record is immediately legible to their hiring team.
Target Crimson's high-volume regional hiring cycles
Crimson posts Admissions Counselor openings frequently and across multiple regions. Apply during their peak recruitment windows, typically aligned with the Northern Hemisphere admissions season, when headcount needs are highest and sponsorship decisions move faster.
Confirm H-1B specialty occupation framing early
For USCIS to approve an H-1B petition, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Ask your recruiter how Crimson classifies the Admissions Counselor position in its H-1B filings before you reach the offer stage.
Build credentials in recognized counseling frameworks
Certifications from NACAC-affiliated bodies or a graduate degree in education, counseling, or a related field strengthen your specialty occupation case. These signal to both Crimson and USCIS that the role requires specialized academic preparation, not generalist skills.
Clarify cap-subject status and your H-1B eligibility timing
H-1B cap registrations open in March for October 1 start dates. If you need cap-subject sponsorship, align your application timeline so Crimson can include you in the lottery. Cap-exempt pathways exist if you currently hold H-1B status with another employer.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Admissions Counselor roles
Filter for Crimson Education's current Admissions Counselor listings on Migrate Mate to surface only roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome, saving you from applying to postings that won't support your visa situation.

Find Admissions Counselor at Crimson Education JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Crimson Education sponsor H-1B visas for Admissions Counselors?
Yes, Crimson Education has sponsored H-1B visas for Admissions Counselor roles. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific opening, your qualifications, and timing relative to the H-1B cap. The safest approach is to raise sponsorship directly with the recruiter before investing heavily in the interview process.
How do I apply for Admissions Counselor jobs at Crimson Education?
You can browse current Admissions Counselor openings at Crimson Education through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is a realistic option. Apply directly through Crimson's official careers page once you've identified a relevant listing, and address your need for sponsorship early in the screening conversation.
Which visa types are commonly used for Admissions Counselor roles at Crimson Education?
The H-1B is the primary visa Crimson has used for Admissions Counselors. To qualify, the role must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, which requires a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT may be able to bridge to H-1B sponsorship if their degree field aligns with the position.
What qualifications does Crimson Education expect for Admissions Counselor positions?
Crimson typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a closely related field, combined with direct experience guiding students through selective college applications. Knowledge of U.S. and UK admissions processes, strong written communication, and a track record of student outcomes are consistently valued across their Admissions Counselor postings.
How do I plan my timeline around H-1B sponsorship at Crimson Education?
H-1B cap registration opens each March for an October 1 employment start date. If you need new H-1B sponsorship, you'll want to secure your offer well before March so Crimson can include you in the lottery. If you're already in H-1B status, portability rules under USCIS allow you to start with a new employer once the transfer petition is filed.
