Tailor your credentials for education technology
Crimson Education operates across multiple jurisdictions, so highlight any experience with international contracts, data privacy, or education regulation. Bar admission in a U.S. state is typically non-negotiable for a Corporate Counsel role, so confirm your eligibility before applying.
Research Crimson's open roles before applying
Crimson consistently posts Corporate Counsel openings across its global offices. Use Migrate Mate to filter for roles explicitly open to visa sponsorship, so you're targeting positions where the company has already signaled willingness to sponsor rather than hoping to negotiate it later.
Understand H-1B specialty occupation requirements for attorneys
USCIS treats attorney roles as specialty occupations when a Juris Doctor or equivalent is the standard minimum. Make sure your degree credentials are evaluated by a NACES-accredited service if your law degree is from outside the U.S., as Crimson's petitions will need to demonstrate degree equivalency.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
H-1B cap registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If Crimson makes you an offer outside that window, ask specifically about cap-exempt options or a change of status from a current visa like OPT, which can bridge you to the next filing period.
Address multi-jurisdiction legal work in your application
Crimson's business spans education consulting, tutoring, and admissions services across multiple countries. Corporate Counsel candidates who can speak to cross-border contract drafting, student data protection laws, or EdTech regulatory risk stand out over generalists in a competitive applicant pool.
Confirm sponsorship intent before your offer stage
Before salary negotiations begin, ask HR directly whether the role is approved for H-1B sponsorship. Crimson's legal hiring moves quickly, and confirming this early prevents delays once USCIS requires the employer to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting the petition.
Corporate Counsel at Crimson Education jobs are hiring across the US. Find yours.
Find Corporate Counsel at Crimson Education JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Crimson Education sponsor H-1B visas for Corporate Counsels?
Yes, Crimson Education has sponsored H-1B visas for Corporate Counsel roles. The H-1B is the primary pathway for attorneys in corporate in-house positions, as USCIS recognizes the role as a specialty occupation requiring at least a Juris Doctor or its equivalent. Sponsorship availability can vary by hiring cycle, so confirming directly with Crimson's recruiting team during the interview process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Corporate Counsel jobs at Crimson Education?
You can apply through Crimson Education's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which lists Corporate Counsel openings at companies with confirmed H-1B sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your materials to Crimson's international education and EdTech focus, and be prepared to provide bar admission details and, if applicable, a foreign credential evaluation to support a sponsorship petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Corporate Counsel roles at Crimson Education?
The H-1B is the most common visa for in-house Corporate Counsel positions at companies like Crimson Education. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, you can work while your employer files an H-1B petition. Attorneys with extraordinary ability may also explore the O-1A category, though it requires a significantly higher evidentiary threshold than the H-1B.
What qualifications does Crimson Education expect for a Corporate Counsel role?
Crimson typically seeks candidates with a Juris Doctor or equivalent, active bar admission, and experience in commercial contracts, corporate governance, or regulatory compliance. Given Crimson's global footprint in education services, familiarity with cross-border transactions, data privacy frameworks like FERPA or GDPR, and international licensing issues strengthens your application considerably over a purely domestic transactional background.
How do I navigate the H-1B filing timeline after receiving an offer from Crimson Education?
Once Crimson extends an offer, the process begins with an approved Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL, which typically takes seven business days. For cap-subject petitions, USCIS registration opens each March and the filing window runs April through June for an October 1 start. If you're on OPT with an approaching end date, ask Crimson about premium processing, which reduces USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days.
