Capstone Project Mentor & Specialist Coach – Empower the Next Generation of Global Leaders!
Crimson Education is a Series C global EdTech startup, founded in 2013, with a bold vision: to transform students into the world leaders of tomorrow through personalized education and technology. With a presence in 28 countries and a team of 700+ professionals, we connect over 3,000 tutors and mentors with students aiming for admission to top universities or career pathways around the globe.
The Role
We're hiring across two tracks as we scale Crimson Rise:
- Capstone Project Mentors guide individual students through original, field-based capstone projects from ideation to completion — research, prototypes, community campaigns, creative portfolios — structured across five levels of difficulty to meet each student where they are.
- Specialist Coaches build core skills with students on an ongoing basis — coding, entrepreneurship, research methods, public speaking, and more (full list below) — through structured, recurring coaching sessions.
You'll indicate which track and area(s) you're applying for.
Who We're Looking For
- We're regionalizing our mentor team to better support students and families in their local context — we'd love to hear from US-based mentors in the Pacific time zone and India-based mentors in particular, given exciting growth in these markets (see Priority Locations below). Strong experience working with students in your region, and fluency in the local language, are a big plus.
- A completed undergraduate degree, at minimum. A degree from a Top 30 U.S. university is a nice-to-have on top of that, but not a must.
- A few years of active, hands-on experience in your field or specialist area — we love mentors who are currently living and breathing their work, though we're always happy to hear from people who've recently made a transition too.
- When you apply, tell us a bit about your hands-on experience in the specific field or specialist area you're interested in — it helps us get to know you and move your application along quickly. We review every application personally.
- Deep expertise in one or more of our program fields or specialist areas (full lists below).
- Experience managing projects or guiding others through a structured process.
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with young people and supporting their development.

Target roles that align with Crimson's core services
Crimson Education's sponsored positions tend to sit in academic advising, admissions coaching, and student success. Tailor your application to roles where specialized knowledge of university admissions processes or curriculum development is clearly required.
Understand that H-1B is Crimson's primary sponsorship pathway
Crimson Education sponsors H-1B visas, so confirm your role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Roles in education consulting and academic strategy typically meet this threshold when framed correctly.
Raise sponsorship early and frame it as straightforward
Education-sector employers sometimes hesitate on visa sponsorship due to unfamiliarity with the process. Come prepared to explain that H-1B sponsorship is employer-initiated and that your experience directly matches the role's specialty occupation requirements.
Highlight international experience as a genuine asset
Crimson operates globally, advising students across multiple countries. International academic backgrounds, multilingual skills, or experience with non-U.S. university systems can meaningfully differentiate your application from domestic candidates.
Search for open roles using a platform that filters by sponsorship history
Not all Crimson Education job postings will mention visa sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your search on positions where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
Align your application timeline with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. Factor this into your job search timeline at Crimson Education and begin conversations with hiring teams well before the registration window opens.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Crimson Education sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Crimson Education sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in the United States. The H-1B is a specialty occupation visa, so the position must require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Roles in academic advising, admissions consulting, and education strategy are the most likely candidates for sponsorship at Crimson.
What types of roles does Crimson Education typically sponsor?
Sponsored roles at Crimson Education tend to fall within its core education consulting business, positions like academic advisor, college admissions strategist, curriculum specialist, and student success coach. These roles align with H-1B specialty occupation criteria because they require field-specific expertise, typically in education, psychology, or a related discipline.
How do I know if Crimson Education will sponsor my visa for a specific role?
Sponsorship decisions at Crimson Education are made role by role, so the clearest path is to ask directly during early recruitment conversations. Come prepared to explain your visa situation and confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Migrate Mate can help you identify open Crimson Education positions that have a verified sponsorship history, so you're not applying blind.
What is the typical application timeline for a sponsored role at Crimson Education?
The hiring process at education consultancies like Crimson typically runs four to eight weeks from initial application to offer. If you need H-1B sponsorship, factor in that USCIS registration happens once a year in March, with employment beginning October 1. Starting your job search at least six months before the registration window gives you the best chance of securing an offer in time.
How do I strengthen my application for a sponsored position at Crimson Education?
Emphasize qualifications that directly support the specialty occupation standard: a degree in a relevant field, demonstrated expertise in university admissions or academic coaching, and any international experience that reflects Crimson's global student base. Be upfront about your visa needs early in the process, and frame H-1B sponsorship as a well-understood pathway rather than an unusual request.
