Does Mayo Clinic sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Mayo Clinic sponsors H-1B visas and is one of the most active H-1B sponsors among U.S. healthcare and academic medical institutions. Sponsorship is most common for physicians, researchers, and highly specialized clinical roles. If you're applying for a position that requires a specialty degree and falls within their core clinical or research functions, H-1B sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Which visa types does Mayo Clinic sponsor?
Mayo Clinic sponsors a broad range of visa categories including H-1B, E-3 (for Australian citizens), TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and role. Roles in clinical medicine, research, and health sciences education see the widest range of sponsorship activity.
Which departments or roles at Mayo Clinic are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Mayo Clinic is most common in departments tied to clinical care and biomedical research, including internal medicine, oncology, surgery, and laboratory sciences. Academic and research faculty positions also have a strong sponsorship track record. Administrative and non-clinical roles are less frequently sponsored, so candidates in those areas should confirm sponsorship eligibility early in the process.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Mayo Clinic?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find Mayo Clinic roles that are open to international candidates. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate filters by verified sponsorship history, so you're not wasting time on listings that won't support your visa. You can browse Mayo Clinic openings directly and see which positions align with your visa category and qualifications.
How do I time my application to Mayo Clinic around visa sponsorship deadlines?
Timing depends heavily on your current status. F-1 OPT holders should apply at least four to six months before their authorization expires to allow time for credentialing, offer negotiation, and H-1B petition filing. J-1 visa holders may need to address the two-year home residency requirement before transitioning. Mayo Clinic's HR and legal teams are experienced with these timelines, but the earlier you flag your situation, the smoother the process.
