Frame your credentials around U.S. regulatory frameworks
Deloitte's Senior Risk Consultant roles frequently touch SOX compliance, COSO frameworks, and SEC regulatory work. Before applying, map your international experience to these U.S.-specific standards so hiring managers can immediately assess your fit without translation.
Target Deloitte's risk advisory practice areas directly
Deloitte structures its risk practice across Financial Risk, Cyber Risk, and Regulatory and Legal Risk. Applying to a named practice area rather than a generic consulting opening signals focus and improves your odds of reaching a team that actively sponsors for that specialization.
Align your OPT or CPT timeline with Deloitte's recruiting cycles
Deloitte runs structured full-time recruiting for consulting roles in late summer through fall. If your OPT authorization runs short, confirm your end date before applying so you can flag cap-gap eligibility or STEM OPT extension availability upfront during screening.
Clarify which visa category fits your citizenship early
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for this role. Australian citizens and Chilean or Singapore nationals qualify for treaty-based alternatives that skip the H-1B lottery entirely. Knowing which category applies to you before your offer conversation prevents delays in the filing timeline.
Prepare for the LCA stage before your start date
Once Deloitte extends an offer, the employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Confirm your office location early since the LCA is tied to a specific worksite, and remote or hybrid arrangements may require amended filings later.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Senior Risk Consultant roles
Deloitte posts Senior Risk Consultant openings across practice areas and locations at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Deloitte roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship so you're only spending time on positions where your candidacy can realistically move forward.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Risk Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Risk Consultants. Deloitte is one of the larger consulting employers in the H-1B program and regularly files petitions for risk advisory roles. Sponsorship is tied to the specific practice area and office location, so confirm early in the process that the hiring team has sponsorship approval for your role.
Which visa types does Deloitte sponsor for Senior Risk Consultant roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Senior Risk Consultant positions, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. H-1B1 applies to Chilean and Singapore nationals. E-3 visa is available to Australian citizens and avoids the annual H-1B lottery. The right category depends on your nationality and current immigration status.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Senior Risk Consultant roles?
Deloitte typically expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, often with two to four years of experience in risk management, internal audit, or regulatory compliance. Certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA strengthen your profile. Familiarity with SOX compliance, enterprise risk frameworks, or financial services regulation is frequently referenced in job postings.
How do I apply for Senior Risk Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
You can search for Senior Risk Consultant openings directly on Deloitte's careers site or use Migrate Mate to filter for Deloitte roles that support visa sponsorship. Applications typically require a resume and may involve a virtual interview process with multiple rounds across practice and talent acquisition teams. Applying during peak recruiting cycles in fall improves your response rate.
How do I understand the visa filing timeline after receiving a Deloitte offer?
After an offer is extended, Deloitte's immigration team typically coordinates with outside counsel to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. For cap-subject H-1B filings, the registration window opens in March and employment can begin October 1 at the earliest. E-3 and H-1B1 visa petitions are not cap-subject and can be filed year-round, often resulting in faster start dates.
