Align your background to Deloitte's client sectors
Deloitte's BD teams are organized around industry verticals like financial services, government, and technology. Positioning your experience within one of these sectors, not just generic sales, sharpens your fit for roles where sponsorship investment is most justified.
Pursue roles that require a specialty occupation degree
H-1B eligibility hinges on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation. Sales BD positions at consulting firms tend to qualify when tied to a specific field like finance or technology, so target openings that list a relevant degree as required, not preferred.
Filter open roles by sponsorship eligibility upfront
Use Migrate Mate to browse current Sales Business Development openings at Deloitte filtered by visa sponsorship, so you're only spending time on positions where your work authorization needs are already accounted for by the hiring team.
Prepare proof of client-facing results, not just responsibilities
Deloitte's BD interviewers evaluate pipeline ownership and revenue impact. Bring documented examples of accounts closed, partnerships built, or proposals won. Concrete outcomes make it easier for the firm to justify sponsorship investment internally.
Understand your timeline if you're changing visa status
If you're moving from OPT or another nonimmigrant status, USCIS cap-subject H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Deloitte's legal team will need lead time, so surface your timeline during the offer process, not after signing.

Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis, so eligibility depends on how the specific position is scoped and whether your background aligns with the stated degree requirement.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal at deloitte.com/careers. You can also find and filter current Sales Business Development openings at Deloitte by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles where international candidates are actively considered before you invest time in the application.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Sales Business Development roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for nonimmigrant work authorization, along with EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term permanent residence. Australian citizens on E-3 and Chilean or Singaporean nationals on H-1B1 often have a faster path since those categories aren't subject to the annual H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Most Sales BD roles at Deloitte require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a closely related field, combined with experience managing complex client relationships or B2B sales cycles. Consulting-sector BD positions frequently expect familiarity with RFP processes, account planning, and cross-functional coordination with delivery teams, which also matters for H-1B specialty occupation qualification.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take at a firm like Deloitte?
For cap-subject H-1B petitions, USCIS registration opens in March, with an October 1 start date if selected. Premium processing can reduce USCIS adjudication to 15 business days once a petition is filed. E-3 consular processing for Australian nationals generally takes two to six weeks. Starting the conversation with your recruiter about sponsorship early in the offer process avoids delays.
