Frame your experience around Google's go-to-market motion
Google's Sales BD roles emphasize cloud, ads, and platform partnerships. Tailor your resume to show experience with SaaS or platform sales cycles, not just general BD. Hiring managers look for fluency with technical products alongside commercial outcomes.
Target roles aligned with your visa category
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Sales BD roles. Australians should prioritize E-3 pathways since there's no lottery and no annual cap pressure. Singaporeans and Chileans should note the H-1B1's separate quota outside the standard H-1B lottery pool.
Build credentials that bridge sales and technical domains
Google's Sales BD interviews test both commercial judgment and product knowledge. A background in software, cloud infrastructure, or digital advertising, backed by certifications like Google Cloud or Salesforce, strengthens your profile before you ever submit an application.
Understand how Google's LCA filing affects your offer timeline
Before Google can file your H-1B or E-3 petition, the Department of Labor must certify a Labor Condition Application. This step happens after you accept an offer, so build at least two to four weeks into your expected start date to account for LCA processing.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Google Sales BD roles by visa type
Identifying which Google Sales BD roles are actively open and sponsorship-eligible isn't straightforward on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse current Google openings filtered by the visa categories that apply to your situation.
Prepare for USCIS specialty occupation scrutiny in sales roles
USCIS sometimes questions whether BD and sales roles qualify as specialty occupations. Google's offers for these positions typically require a relevant bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a technical field. Make sure your degree and role description align clearly.

Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Development?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles. These positions typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, or computer science to satisfy the H-1B specialty occupation requirement. Google's legal and HR teams manage the petition process internally, but the role's job description needs to clearly support the degree requirement before USCIS will approve the petition.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com. Search for Sales Business Development or related titles such as Business Development Manager or Partner Development Manager. You can also browse current Google Sales BD openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles specifically posted for international candidates. Tailor your resume to reflect enterprise sales cycles and familiarity with Google's product ecosystem before applying.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Sales Business Development roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Sales Business Development roles. H-1B is the most broadly available but requires lottery selection for cap-subject cases. E-3 is exclusive to Australian citizens and has a separate annual allocation that has never been exhausted, making it a more predictable path. H-1B1 is available to citizens of Singapore and Chile under similar specialty occupation standards.
What qualifications does Google expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Most Google Sales BD roles require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, computer science, or a related field, along with several years of experience in enterprise sales, partnerships, or business development within the technology sector. Familiarity with SaaS, cloud platforms, or digital advertising products is frequently listed as a requirement rather than a preference. Technical certifications, particularly Google Cloud credentials, can meaningfully differentiate your application.
How do I handle the H-1B lottery timing if I'm targeting a Sales BD role at Google?
The H-1B lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, so timing your Google job search and offer process matters. If you receive an offer outside that window, Google can explore cap-exempt options or hold the role for a future cap cycle. Australians and qualifying H-1B1 nationals can bypass the lottery entirely. If you're currently on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility to extend your work authorization through the next filing period.
