Frame your background around life sciences software sales
Veeva sells exclusively to pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. Before applying, reframe your resume around CRM, SaaS, or regulated-industry sales experience. Generic tech sales backgrounds get filtered out early in their BD hiring process.
Confirm your OPT end date before interviewing
Veeva's H-1B sponsorship process requires time to prepare the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before filing with USCIS. Know your OPT expiration date going into interviews so you can flag timing constraints before an offer is extended.
Target Veeva's commercial cloud roles specifically
Veeva organizes its Sales Business Development hiring around product lines like Vault, CRM, and Compass. Roles tied to specific cloud products tend to have clearer specialty occupation documentation, which strengthens the H-1B petition for your position.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
Veeva posts Sales Business Development roles across multiple locations, not all of which support sponsorship equally. Use Migrate Mate to browse active openings filtered by the visa types Veeva has sponsored for this function, so you apply to the right positions from the start.
Ask about cap-exempt filing options if you hold H-1B status
If you already hold H-1B status with another employer, Veeva can file an H-1B transfer outside the annual lottery cap. Raise this early in the process so their immigration counsel can plan accordingly, rather than waiting until the offer stage.
Prepare a degree-to-role narrative before your offer call
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation status for sales roles. Have a clear explanation of how your bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, life sciences, or information systems, directly applies to the technical sales work Veeva's BD team performs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Veeva Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles?
Yes, Veeva Systems has a consistent track record of H-1B sponsorship for Sales Business Development positions. Because the role involves selling complex software solutions to regulated industries, it typically meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard. Sponsorship is most straightforward when your degree aligns directly with the technical or commercial nature of the BD function.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Veeva Systems?
Applications go through Veeva's careers portal at veeva.com. Roles are organized by cloud product line, so search for the specific BD function that matches your background. If you want to filter opportunities by visa type before applying, Migrate Mate lets you browse Veeva's open Sales Business Development roles by the sponsorship categories the company supports.
Which visa types does Veeva Systems commonly sponsor for Sales Business Development positions?
Veeva sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for longer-term employment, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates earlier in their careers. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Veeva has also sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for this function.
What qualifications does Veeva Systems expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Veeva's BD hiring centers on candidates with a bachelor's degree in a business, life sciences, or technical field, paired with experience in SaaS or enterprise software sales. Familiarity with pharmaceutical or biotech industry workflows is a strong differentiator. For visa purposes, the degree-to-role match matters, since USCIS evaluates whether the position genuinely requires a specialized bachelor's degree.
How do I time my application if my OPT is expiring soon?
Veeva's immigration process involves DOL Labor Condition Application certification before USCIS filing, so allow at least several months between offer and the end of your OPT. If your OPT runs out before an H-1B is approved, a 60-day grace period applies, but that window is tight. Applying early and being transparent with the recruiter about your timeline reduces risk significantly.
