About the Team
The In-Store Sales Development team at DoorDash supports and scales the SevenRooms platform by connecting hospitality operators with powerful tools to own guest relationships and streamline in-store operations. As part of DoorDash's broader sales organization, this team plays a critical role in driving top-of-funnel growth and building strong, hyper-local relationships with restaurants across the U.S.
About the Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you'll be the first point of contact for hospitality operators exploring SevenRooms and DoorDash's In-Store solutions. You'll own the early stages of the sales process — researching prospects, identifying decision-makers, qualifying interest, and securing meetings for field sales partners across your assigned region.
This role is ideal for someone who is energized by high-volume outreach, enjoys uncovering opportunities through conversation, and wants to build a strong foundation in sales. You'll bring discipline and creativity to your outreach while gaining exposure to both inside and field sales motions within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
You'll work closely with Sales leadership and field sellers to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified opportunities, while building core skills in prospecting, discovery, and storytelling.
We expect this role to be flexible, with some time in office and some time remote. You will need the ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through trainings, offsites, team-building events, and other business-related necessities.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Prospect and qualify new merchants: Identify, contact, and qualify hospitality operators and key decision-makers through targeted outreach
- Drive high-volume outreach: Conduct consistent cold calling (including high daily dial volume) and email outreach to generate interest and book qualified meetings
- Partner with field sales: Collaborate closely with outside sales partners to set meetings that move opportunities forward
- Manage pipeline effectively: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce and internal tools to support clean handoffs and reporting
- Refine sales skills: Continuously improve messaging, discovery, and qualifying techniques through feedback and practice
- Build industry knowledge: Develop expertise in the SevenRooms platform, hospitality operations, and consultative selling
We're excited about you because you have…
- 1+ year of experience in a sales or customer-facing role; high-volume outbound or cold calling experience is a strong plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to spark engaging conversations
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment with daily activity targets
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing leads and outreach
- Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce and productivity tools such as Google Workspace
- A proactive, coachable mindset with a desire to learn, adapt, and grow within a sales organization
- Interest in hospitality, restaurants, or technology-enabled services

Frame Your Sales Metrics Around Platform Growth
DoorDash evaluates BD candidates on pipeline contribution and partner acquisition outcomes. Quantify your track record in merchant onboarding, territory expansion, or enterprise deal cycles rather than general relationship management language that blends into every other applicant.
Confirm Sponsorship Eligibility Before Final Rounds
DoorDash sponsors multiple visa categories for Sales BD roles, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Ask your recruiter which categories apply to your situation before your final interview, so your offer letter can reflect the correct visa classification from the start.
Prepare LCA Documentation for Your Specific Work Location
DoorDash roles can involve hybrid or field-based arrangements tied to specific metro territories. Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL for each work location, so confirm your primary city early to avoid delays if your territory assignment shifts.
Use OPT STEM Extension Time Strategically
If you are on F-1 OPT, DoorDash's H-1B sponsorship timeline means you will likely go through at least one lottery cycle. The 24-month STEM extension gives you runway, but start the H-1B registration process in your first OPT year, not your second.
Target Roles Aligned With DoorDash's Enterprise Segments
Browse Sales Business Development openings at DoorDash filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility using Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship has been documented. Prioritize enterprise merchant or national accounts listings, as these teams have historically sponsored across the widest range of visa types.
Align Your Degree Field to the Specialty Occupation Standard
USCIS requires that your degree field directly relates to the role for H-1B approval. For Sales BD positions, degrees in business administration, economics, or marketing are well-supported. A mismatch between your transcript and the job description is one of the most common causes of an RFE in this category.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B lottery each April and supports candidates through the full USCIS petition process. Because selection is not guaranteed, candidates already in valid status should discuss backup visa options with DoorDash's HR team before the registration window opens.
Which visa types does DoorDash commonly sponsor for Sales Business Development roles?
DoorDash sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Sales BD positions. Australian and Chilean nationals benefit from the E-3 visa and H-1B1 visa categories respectively, which are not subject to the general H-1B cap and can be processed on a faster timeline.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for Sales Business Development roles?
DoorDash typically looks for candidates with demonstrated experience in B2B sales, partner acquisition, or enterprise account management, ideally within a technology, marketplace, or platform business. Familiarity with sales tools like Salesforce, a track record of closing multi-stakeholder deals, and comfort working across cross-functional teams are consistently valued across BD job postings.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at DoorDash?
Applications go through DoorDash's careers portal, but finding roles that explicitly support your visa category requires additional filtering. Migrate Mate lists Sales Business Development openings at DoorDash with visa sponsorship data attached, so you can identify which active postings align with your status before investing time in the application process.
How do I time my DoorDash application around the H-1B visa process?
H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. To meet that timeline, you need a signed offer and a prepared petition well before March. Targeting DoorDash's recruiting cycle in the fall or early winter, roughly six to eight months before the registration window, gives both sides enough time to complete the process without rushing.
