Align your credentials with Siemens verticals
Siemens recruits BD talent with domain fluency in areas like building automation, grid technology, or industrial software. Frame your resume around sector-specific pipeline development and enterprise sales cycles, not generic relationship management skills.
Research which Siemens divisions file LCAs
Siemens operates across several distinct business units, each with its own hiring budget and sponsorship appetite. Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data to identify which divisions have recently filed Labor Condition Applications for Sales or Business Development titles.
Target roles that map to specialty occupation criteria
H-1B eligibility requires your BD role to qualify as a specialty occupation, typically needing a degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Siemens job postings that list a degree as required, not preferred, signal stronger sponsorship viability.
Time your outreach around Siemens' fiscal cycle
Siemens' U.S. fiscal year ends in September. Headcount approvals for the following year often open in Q4. Engaging recruiters in October through January increases the chance your offer and H-1B filing align before the April cap-subject registration window.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open BD roles by visa type
Siemens posts Sales Business Development roles across multiple portals, making it hard to identify which positions are open to sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter Siemens openings by visa type so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is explicitly on the table.
Clarify your OPT or grace period status before offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining work authorization window before Siemens extends an offer. Siemens' HR teams need adequate lead time to coordinate USCIS filings, and a 60-day gap period cannot be used for employment while a petition is pending.

Find Sales Business Development at Siemens JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Siemens sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, Siemens sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, engineering, or a related discipline. Sponsorship decisions are made at the business unit level, so eligibility can vary depending on which division is hiring and whether the role meets USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Siemens?
Applications go through Siemens' careers portal at siemens.com/careers. Search for Sales or Business Development titles and filter by U.S. locations. Before applying, verify the posting explicitly mentions visa sponsorship or degree requirements that signal H-1B eligibility. Migrate Mate lets you browse Siemens' open Sales Business Development roles filtered by visa type, so you can prioritize positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Which visa types does Siemens commonly use for Sales Business Development roles?
Siemens most commonly uses H-1B visas for Sales Business Development hires, but also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, J-1 for exchange-based roles, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for employees pursuing permanent residence after establishing tenure.
What qualifications does Siemens expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Siemens typically looks for a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field, paired with experience in B2B enterprise sales or solution selling within industrial, infrastructure, or technology sectors. Familiarity with Siemens' core verticals, such as smart buildings, grid automation, or industrial software, strengthens your application. For H-1B sponsorship, the degree requirement needs to be specific to the role, not a general preference.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Siemens to sponsor my H-1B?
USCIS opens H-1B cap-subject registration each March for an October 1 start date. That means you need a signed offer and a registered petition before the registration window closes, typically in late March. Plan to have your offer finalized by February at the latest. If you're selected in the lottery, Siemens has until June to file the full petition. Employees already in H-1B status through another employer can transfer without waiting for a new cap season.
