Position: Ocean Operations Supervisor
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Global Forwarding Operations experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience leading a team
- Strong knowledge of ocean import/export operations, shipping documentation, customs procedures, and carrier coordination
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
- Being able to work independently and part of a team
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Manage ocean freight operations for both Export and Import
- Supervise overall operational quality and streamline working process to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- To assist sales development and provide in-house support
- Communicate and coordinate with overseas agent partners on R/Os together with Supervisor
- Negotiate with carriers, vendors, and utilize alternatives to improve overall consolidation costs to maximize profitability, as well as maintaining service efficiency
- At the same time, work closely with Customer Service management to establish and implement SOP for all key and MNC accounts to meet expectation
- Adhere to compliance of all transportation and security regulations
- Responsible for completion of air export/air import month end closing
- Coordinate with the management to execute annual business plan and operating budget
