Align your credentials to retail sourcing
Dollar General's Procurement team focuses on private-label goods, consumables, and store-brand supplier negotiations. Frame your resume around category management, supplier cost reduction, and inventory optimization, not just general purchasing experience.
Research Dollar General's LCA filings proactively
Before applying, search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for Dollar General's past Procurement filings to see which job titles and wage levels they've sponsored. This tells you exactly how to position your target role in your application materials.
Target roles that match specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. For Procurement at Dollar General, roles like Strategic Sourcing Manager or Category Analyst, which require a degree in supply chain, business, or a related field, typically meet this threshold more clearly than general buyer titles.
Start the offer conversation early in the process
Dollar General's HR and legal teams need time to prepare an LCA before any H-1B petition can be filed with USCIS. Raise your visa status clearly in early recruiter conversations so the employer can assess timeline feasibility before extending a formal offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Procurement roles by sponsorship history
Retail procurement openings are scattered across job boards, making it hard to know which postings come from employers with real sponsorship track records. Migrate Mate lets you filter Dollar General's current Procurement openings by verified visa sponsorship activity.
Understand TN visa eligibility if you are Canadian or Mexican
If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, TN status under USMCA can cover certain Procurement roles, particularly those framed around industrial engineering, management consulting, or scientific functions. Confirm the role description supports a qualifying TN category before relying on this path.

Find Procurement at Dollar General JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dollar General sponsor H-1B visas for Procurement roles?
Yes, Dollar General has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for Procurement professionals. Roles centered on strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier analytics tend to qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards. Your degree field should align directly with the role's responsibilities, typically supply chain, business, or a related discipline, to support the petition.
How do I apply for Procurement jobs at Dollar General?
Applications go through Dollar General's careers portal, where Procurement roles are listed under corporate and supply chain functions. You can also browse verified openings with confirmed sponsorship history on Migrate Mate, which filters Dollar General's current listings by visa type. Tailor your application to highlight retail sourcing experience, supplier negotiation outcomes, and any cost-saving metrics from previous roles.
Which visa types does Dollar General commonly use for Procurement positions?
Dollar General sponsors H-1B visas for most professional Procurement roles and supports employment-based Green Card pathways, including EB-2 and EB-3, for longer-term employees. F-1 OPT and CPT can bridge early-career candidates into full-time sponsorship. Canadian and Mexican nationals may also qualify for TN status depending on how the role is structured and titled.
What qualifications does Dollar General expect for Procurement roles?
Most Procurement positions require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, finance, or a closely related field. Mid-level and senior roles typically expect experience with supplier contracts, cost modeling, and cross-functional collaboration in a high-volume retail or consumer goods environment. Familiarity with indirect procurement, private-label sourcing, or retail replenishment processes strengthens your candidacy meaningfully.
How do I time my H-1B filing if I receive a Dollar General Procurement offer?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only be filed once per year, with the registration window opening in March and an October 1 start date if selected. If you receive an offer outside that window, Dollar General can request a future start date or explore cap-exempt options if applicable. OPT holders have up to 60 days after graduation and can use the 24-month STEM extension to bridge timing gaps while maintaining work authorization.
