Frame your credentials around retail vendor ecosystems
Dollar General evaluates partnership candidates on supplier negotiation and category management experience. Structure your resume and portfolio around measurable outcomes in vendor or wholesale relationships, not just general business development metrics.
Target Dollar General's corporate headquarters pipeline
Most Partnership Development Manager openings originate from the Goodlettsville, Tennessee headquarters. Applications routed through their corporate careers portal reach the hiring teams with direct sponsorship authority, shortcutting the process compared to regional or field roles.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Bring up your visa status after a strong first or second interview, once mutual interest is established. Asking too early in retail corporate hiring can stall your candidacy before the recruiter has advocated internally for your profile.
Understand how PERM timelines affect retail hiring cycles
If you're pursuing a permanent role rather than H-1B, the DOL PERM labor certification process can take 12 to 18 months or longer. Factor this into your timeline so you and your employer align on realistic start and transition dates.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings with sponsorship history
Search for Partnership Development Manager roles at Dollar General on Migrate Mate, which filters jobs by verified sponsorship activity. This saves you time by surfacing only positions where Dollar General is actively hiring for your function and visa type.
Align your OPT or TN status with Dollar General's onboarding windows
If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, confirm your authorized work period covers Dollar General's typical onboarding lead time. Retail corporate roles often have 60 to 90 day hiring timelines, and gaps in authorization can complicate the process before your H-1B petition is filed.

Find Partnership Development Manager at Dollar General JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dollar General sponsor H-1B visas for Partnership Development Managers?
Yes, Dollar General sponsors H-1B visas for corporate roles including Partnership Development Manager positions. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, or a related field. Sponsorship decisions are made at the corporate level, so candidates should target openings tied to the Goodlettsville headquarters rather than field or operations roles.
Which visa types are commonly used for Partnership Development Manager roles at Dollar General?
Dollar General most commonly sponsors H-1B visas for corporate business functions, which covers the majority of Partnership Development Manager hires. F-1 OPT and CPT are viable entry points for recent graduates in adjacent roles. TN visas are an option for Canadian or Mexican nationals whose duties align with the approved USMCA occupation list. For longer-term permanent residency, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are also available through the PERM process.
How do I apply for Partnership Development Manager jobs at Dollar General?
Apply directly through Dollar General's corporate careers portal, where openings at the Goodlettsville headquarters are listed. You can also find Partnership Development Manager roles with confirmed sponsorship activity on Migrate Mate, which filters positions by visa type. Tailor your application to highlight vendor relationship management and retail category experience, as Dollar General hiring teams prioritize candidates with demonstrable supplier or wholesale partnership outcomes.
What qualifications and experience does Dollar General expect for Partnership Development Manager candidates?
Dollar General typically expects a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, marketing, or a related discipline. Relevant experience in vendor management, supplier negotiations, or category partnerships within retail or consumer goods is strongly preferred. Familiarity with value-segment retail dynamics and the ability to manage relationships across multiple suppliers simultaneously reflects the scope of what this role involves at a company of Dollar General's operational scale.
How do I estimate the timeline for H-1B sponsorship if I receive an offer from Dollar General?
The standard H-1B process involves USCIS registration in March, lottery selection, and a petition filing window targeting an October 1 start date. If you miss the cap, Dollar General may be able to extend your OPT or explore cap-exempt options depending on your situation. Plan for a six to twelve month window from offer to authorized start, and confirm early with your employer whether premium processing will be used to accelerate USCIS adjudication.
