Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Associate Database Administrator to join our System Operations (SysOps) team. On the SysOps Team, our mission is to support the whole firm’s database administrative needs. In this role, you will see a direct correlation between your work efforts, asset growth, risk mitigation, and internal user satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance, to ensure high levels of security, performance, availability, and resilience.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain processes using T-SQL, Powershell, and SSIS.
- Define and implement data access controls and monitoring.
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Be proactive and identify areas of improvement.
- Handle incident, problem, and change requests across all severity levels through enterprise ticketing systems, following established incident and change management processes.
- Document procedures, operational runbooks, and technical knowledge; share best practices with the team, and contribute to continuous learning and operational improvement.
- At times, provide off-hours support, including weekends and holidays, on a rotation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in MS SQL or Postgres.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information System.
- Proficient in supporting production database services per defined service level requirements.
- Knowledgeable in Database Administration with a focus on data cleanup, transformation, architecture, and automation.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing T-SQL queries.
- Proficiency in SQL with experience in major database systems (e.g., SQL Server and PostgreSQL).
