Match your role to PERM-eligible categories
Tapestry's Green Card filings concentrate in corporate and technical roles rather than frontline retail. Before applying, verify your target role requires specialized skills or a specific degree, since PERM labor certification requires the employer to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available for that exact position.
Understand which EB pathway fits your background
Tapestry typically files EB-2 and EB-3 petitions through PERM. EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability; EB-3 covers professionals with bachelor's degrees. If you're in a senior design, finance, or technology role, clarify with the recruiter which category the company uses for your level.
Document specialized skills before your interview
PERM job requirements must reflect genuine minimum qualifications. Prepare evidence that your background matches skills Tapestry would legitimately require, such as fluency in luxury retail buying systems or specific ERP platforms, since inflated or mismatched credentials create complications during DOL audit reviews.
Ask about sponsorship timelines during the offer stage
Green Card processing at Tapestry spans multiple stages: PERM labor certification with DOL, I-140 approval through USCIS, and then consular or adjustment of status filing. Total timelines vary significantly by your country of birth and current visa backlog. Confirm whether Tapestry initiates PERM within the first year of employment.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Tapestry's sponsorship history
Before negotiating your offer, search Tapestry's Green Card filing history on Migrate Mate to see which job titles and departments have historically received sponsorship. This helps you target the right teams and have an informed conversation with hiring managers about Green Card eligibility for your specific role.
Align your salary expectations with prevailing wage tiers
DOL requires Tapestry to pay at least the prevailing wage for your occupation and location before PERM can be certified. Research your wage level using OFLC Wage Search to confirm your offered salary qualifies, since a below-threshold offer will prevent the company from filing successfully regardless of intent.
Tapestry Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Tapestry sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Tapestry sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying corporate and technical roles across its brands, including Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman. Sponsorship is generally reserved for specialized positions in areas like technology, finance, merchandising, and design rather than retail store operations. Eligibility is determined on a role-by-role basis.
Which departments at Tapestry are most likely to offer Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Tapestry is most common in corporate functions such as information technology, finance, supply chain, product development, and brand design. These roles typically require specialized degrees or technical skills that support PERM labor certification. Frontline retail and store management positions are generally not sponsored for Green Card.
How do I find open roles at Tapestry that include Green Card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Tapestry job openings filtered by verified Green Card sponsorship history, so you can focus on roles where sponsorship has actually occurred rather than guessing. Cross-reference open positions with Tapestry's corporate career portal, targeting departments where specialized skills and degree requirements align with PERM eligibility criteria.
How do I navigate the Green Card process once Tapestry offers sponsorship?
Tapestry initiates the process by filing a PERM application with DOL, which certifies no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. Once PERM is certified, Tapestry files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Depending on your country of birth and preference category, you then wait for a visa number before filing for adjustment of status or consular processing.
How long does the Green Card process take at Tapestry?
The timeline depends on your EB category and country of birth. PERM labor certification alone can take six months to over a year if DOL selects the case for audit. After I-140 approval, applicants from high-demand countries like India or China may face extended priority date backlogs. Confirm timing expectations with Tapestry's immigration team before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Tapestry?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
