Job Roles at Chewy Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Chewy Visa Sponsorship USA
Target Chewy's technology and data teams first
Chewy's sponsorship activity is concentrated in software engineering, data science, and IT roles. If your background is technical, these teams represent your strongest entry point for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship within the company.
Understand that retail sponsorship looks different here
Unlike most retailers, Chewy operates as a tech-enabled business, so sponsored roles span far beyond store operations. Think corporate functions like finance, marketing analytics, and supply chain technology, not just storefront positions.
Highlight domain expertise in e-commerce or pet industry verticals
Chewy's recruiters favor candidates who understand its specific market. Framing your skills around e-commerce operations, subscription retail, or consumer goods logistics signals relevance beyond just technical ability and strengthens your sponsorship case.
Confirm sponsorship availability before applying
Not every Chewy role is approved for sponsorship, even at a company with a strong track record. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and avoid applying to positions that won't support your visa.
Prepare for a structured interview process
Chewy typically runs multi-round interviews with technical and behavioral components. For international candidates on tight OPT or cap timelines, knowing the process length in advance helps you sequence your applications and avoid overlap with expiring work authorization.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Chewy sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Chewy sponsors H-1B visas, primarily for roles in software engineering, data science, and other technical functions. The company has established a consistent sponsorship track record, making it one of the more reliable H-1B sponsors in the retail sector. Roles in corporate functions like finance and analytics have also received sponsorship, though technology positions see the highest volume.
Which visa types does Chewy sponsor?
Chewy sponsors H-1B and TN visas for specialty occupation roles, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students on work authorization. The company also files for employment-based Green Cards, including EB-2 and EB-3 categories, for longer-term employees. This range makes Chewy accessible to candidates at multiple stages of their immigration journey.
Which departments or roles at Chewy are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Software engineering, data science, machine learning, and IT infrastructure roles account for the largest share of Chewy's sponsored positions. Corporate functions including finance, supply chain, and marketing analytics have also been sponsored. Roles tied directly to retail store operations or customer service are generally not eligible for sponsorship.
How do I find visa-sponsored job openings at Chewy?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to browse Chewy's sponsorship-eligible roles. The platform surfaces verified sponsoring employers so you can filter specifically for positions where Chewy has an active sponsorship history, rather than sifting through listings with no immigration support. This is especially useful if you're on OPT or approaching an H-1B cap deadline.
How do I time my application to Chewy given H-1B cap deadlines?
The H-1B cap registration window typically opens in March, with an October 1 start date for approved petitions. To meet that timeline comfortably, most candidates should target Chewy roles in the fourth quarter of the prior year or early in the first quarter. Starting earlier gives both you and Chewy's HR team time to prepare the petition before the registration window opens.
