Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Development Manager Jobs at Chewy Jobs
Align your resume to Chewy's engineering culture
Chewy's Development Manager roles sit at the intersection of retail technology and platform scale. Frame your experience around leading distributed teams, managing delivery cycles for consumer-facing systems, and owning roadmaps that affect fulfillment or e-commerce operations.
Target roles tied to Chewy's core platforms
Chewy consistently hires Development Managers for its supply chain, pharmacy, and customer experience platforms. Focusing your application on these verticals signals alignment with where sponsorship headcount is actively allocated, not just open requisitions.
Search Chewy's Development Manager openings on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Chewy's open Development Manager roles specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from applying to positions that won't support your status. Browse and filter by visa type before you invest time tailoring your application.
Start OPT paperwork earlier than your end date
If you're on F-1 OPT, your DSO needs time to process the employment authorization update before your current authorization expires. A gap between OPT end and your H-1B start date can jeopardize your status, so initiate the USCIS cap-gap extension process as soon as your H-1B petition is filed.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting your offer
Before your H-1B petition goes to USCIS, Chewy's legal team must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your prevailing wage. Ask your recruiter where this stands in the timeline so you can plan your start date around the certification window.
Prepare for a technical leadership interview format
Chewy's Development Manager interviews weight cross-functional delivery and engineering org design heavily. Prepare case-style answers covering how you've structured teams through rapid growth, handled vendor integrations, and maintained delivery velocity during platform migrations.

Find Development Manager at Chewy JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Chewy sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Chewy sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company has an active sponsorship program that covers both initial H-1B cap filings and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status. If you're mid-cycle on an existing H-1B, a transfer to Chewy typically allows you to start work as soon as USCIS issues a receipt notice.
Which visa types does Chewy commonly sponsor for Development Manager roles?
Chewy sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Development Manager roles, and supports Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA occupational categories. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically begins after a candidate has established performance history in the role.
What qualifications does Chewy expect for Development Manager roles?
Chewy generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience managing software engineering teams. For Development Manager roles specifically, experience leading delivery in retail technology, e-commerce platforms, or supply chain systems strengthens your application considerably. A master's degree can support EB-2 Green Card sponsorship down the line.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Chewy?
You can find and apply for Development Manager roles at Chewy that are open to visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by sponsorship eligibility. Once you identify a role, apply directly through Chewy's careers portal. Tailor your application to the specific platform or product area the role supports, since Chewy's hiring teams are organized by vertical.
How do I plan my timeline if Chewy is sponsoring my H-1B for the first time?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only be filed for an October 1 start date, with USCIS lottery registration opening in March. If you miss a lottery cycle, your start date shifts a full year. Build this into your job search timeline and ask Chewy's recruiting team upfront whether they file in time for the annual registration window.
