Target corporate and tech roles, not store positions
Wawa's Green Card sponsorship concentrates in corporate headquarters roles, IT, supply chain, and engineering, not frontline retail. Focus your search on Wawa's career site under corporate or technology departments to find positions that realistically lead to sponsorship.
Understand which Green Card category fits your role
Wawa files under both EB-2 and EB-3 depending on the role's degree requirements. EB-2 typically applies to advanced degree positions in technology or management. Confirm which category your target role falls under before applying, as it affects your timeline significantly.
Ask about sponsorship policy during early interviews
Retail companies vary in how proactively they discuss sponsorship. Raise Green Card eligibility with the recruiter after an offer is on the table, not during initial screening. Frame it around long-term commitment to the role and the company.
Use Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship history before applying
Migrate Mate surfaces verified Green Card sponsors so you can confirm Wawa's actual sponsorship activity before investing time in an application. Filtering by company and visa type saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unlikely to materialize.
Expect a PERM labor certification process
Most Wawa Green Card sponsorships involve PERM, where the Department of Labor certifies no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. This process typically starts after you've been employed for some time, so plan your immigration timeline accordingly.
Build your case with a strong internal record
Wawa is more likely to sponsor Green Cards for employees who've demonstrated value through performance reviews and promotions. Establishing yourself as a high-performing team member in a specialty role strengthens the business case your employer needs to justify sponsorship.
Wawa Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Wawa sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Wawa sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily in corporate, technology, and supply chain roles. Sponsorship is not available for most hourly or frontline retail positions. The company files under EB-2 and EB-3 categories depending on the role, and sponsorship typically begins after a period of employment.
Which roles and departments at Wawa are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Wawa is most common in technology, engineering, corporate operations, and supply chain management. Roles requiring specialized degrees or advanced technical skills are the strongest candidates for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship. Store associate and general retail positions are not typically sponsored for permanent residence.
How does the Green Card application process work at Wawa?
Wawa typically initiates Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, filed with the Department of Labor. Once PERM is approved, the company files an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. The process requires Wawa to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the specific role you hold.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Wawa?
The full Green Card process through PERM, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status or consular processing can take several years depending on your country of birth and visa category. Indian and Chinese nationals face significantly longer backlogs in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Planning ahead with your employer is essential.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Wawa?
Start by searching Wawa's corporate career portal and filtering for roles in technology, operations, or supply chain where specialty occupation requirements are explicit. Migrate Mate lists verified Green Card sponsors so you can confirm sponsorship history and find open roles at Wawa that align with your qualifications and visa category.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Wawa?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
