Target roles that align with H-1B specialty occupation criteria
Architecture, structural engineering, and interior design roles at HED typically qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules. Focus your application on positions requiring a specific bachelor's degree, the clearer the degree-to-role connection, the stronger your petition.
Understand that HED's sponsorship skews heavily toward permanent residency
HED's sponsorship activity leans significantly toward Green Card filings rather than H-1B transfers. If you're already in valid status and looking for an employer committed to long-term immigration support, HED's pattern suggests genuine investment in retaining international talent.
Position yourself for EB-2 or EB-3 eligibility from day one
HED sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which follow PERM labor certification. Highlight advanced degrees or specialized experience in your application, it signals to hiring managers that you're a strong candidate for either permanent residency pathway.
Research HED's project portfolio before applying
HED works across healthcare, education, and commercial real estate sectors. Demonstrating familiarity with their project types and client base shows genuine fit, and employers in this industry are more likely to sponsor candidates who clearly understand the work involved.
Apply directly through channels that verify real sponsorship history
Many architecture and engineering firms list jobs without confirming sponsorship willingness upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your energy on employers like HED who have an active track record.
Be prepared for a multi-stage hiring process tied to project pipelines
Construction and real estate firms often hire based on project demand, meaning roles open and close quickly. Monitor HED's openings consistently and apply early, delayed applications in project-driven industries frequently miss the sponsorship window entirely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Harley Ellis Devereaux sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Harley Ellis Devereaux sponsors H-1B visas, primarily for architecture and engineering professionals in roles that meet specialty occupation requirements. While H-1B sponsorship is part of their immigration activity, HED's overall sponsorship profile leans more heavily toward permanent residency pathways, suggesting they tend to invest in long-term retention of international employees rather than short-term work authorization.
What visa types does Harley Ellis Devereaux sponsor?
Harley Ellis Devereaux sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant work visas and immigrant visas under the EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories. The EB pathways require PERM labor certification, meaning HED works through the full employment-based permanent residency process. This combination makes them a strong target for professionals seeking both near-term work authorization and a long-term path to a Green Card.
Which roles or departments at Harley Ellis Devereaux are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at HED is most common in technical and licensed professional roles, architects, structural and MEP engineers, interior designers, and project managers with specialized credentials tend to be the strongest candidates. These positions align directly with H-1B specialty occupation standards and meet the degree-specific requirements that support EB-2 and EB-3 PERM applications. Generalist or administrative roles are less likely to receive sponsorship consideration.
How do I find open visa-sponsored positions at Harley Ellis Devereaux?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at verified sponsoring employers including Harley Ellis Devereaux, so you can filter specifically for companies with a confirmed sponsorship history in architecture and construction. This saves significant time compared to manually researching firm-by-firm. Check HED's active listings regularly, as project-based firms in the construction and real estate sector hire in response to pipeline demand, and roles can open and close quickly.
How do I approach the application process at Harley Ellis Devereaux as a visa-dependent candidate?
Be transparent about your visa status early in the process, HED has an established pattern of sponsorship, so disclosing your need upfront is unlikely to be a barrier for qualified candidates. Tailor your resume to emphasize specialized technical skills and relevant project experience in healthcare, commercial, or institutional architecture. If you're targeting a Green Card, understand that PERM labor certification can take 12 to 24 months, so starting the conversation early with HR about their immigration process timeline is worth doing.
