We’re on the search for a Store Manager that will be at the forefront of bringing the fandom to life. You’ll lead the store in achieving store objectives with regards to hitting sales targets, recruiting, development, and performance management. You’ll be a retail maverick that can handle anything that comes your way. You’ll be a believer in developing talent and providing the best customer service in the mall. In short, you’re a superhero.
- Ensure that your store achieves the sales plan and/or comp sales goals. It’s not all about the Benjamins, but then it kind of is
- Recruit, develop, and retain a super collaborative and passionate team to run your store alongside you
- You’re the leader of the band, and you love to create buzz and customer engagement through staying connected on social media, store web applications, and clienteling
- Lead an operationally sound business; you’ll bring the right balance of organizational structure, delegation & autonomy, and customer first selling practices
- Keep watch (like the Night’s Watch) on shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, schedules, and external factors that will affect business
- Collaboratively communicate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends & customer feedback
- Run sales reports and use data to help guide your strategy to hit sales targets
- You’ve got the keys to the kingdom, and you’re not afraid to use them! You’re willing to adapt to new technologies, communicate company policies & procedures, and control supply ownership (spending only as needed)
- Deliver the goods - you’ll merchandise the store in a compelling way, leveraging planograms as a guide, while launching all promos on time
- Every Fellowship needs a Gandalf! Ensure that you’re continually building a bench of equally talented, passionate staff through mentorship, recognition, and feedback
- At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience; you’ve led teams to success and want to experience more of it. You’ll have skills to pay the bills: communication, recruiting, and operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising)
- You'll have to be at least 18 years of age to join the fandom force
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent. If you have a degree, even better
- Roll with the punches! Retail is a fast-changing industry and you like catching curveballs thrown your way
- Open-minded and inquisitive regarding pop culture fandoms & trends
- The usual retail stuff (with or without reasonable accommodation): able to navigate your way around the store, merchandise product utilizing approved store equipment, and pack and unpack boxes of awesome merch that may weigh up to 50 pounds

Target Hot Topic's district and regional openings
Hot Topic frequently fills multi-unit customer service management positions that carry more complex oversight requirements. These roles are more likely to trigger PERM-based sponsorship than single-store supervisor positions, so filter your search accordingly.
Search open Hot Topic roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to surface Customer Service Management openings at Hot Topic that are tagged for visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you the manual work of screening hundreds of retail postings that don't support work authorization.
Understand the PERM timeline before accepting an offer
EB-3 sponsorship through PERM typically takes 12 to 18 months for DOL certification alone, before USCIS adjudicates the I-140. If your current status has a limited runway, discuss timing expectations with the hiring team before signing.
Align your interview narrative with Hot Topic's operational model
Hot Topic manages a large volume of licensed merchandise across physical and online channels. Hiring managers respond to candidates who can speak to inventory escalation, fan-community engagement, and cross-channel service resolution, not generic retail metrics.
Confirm sponsorship scope during the offer negotiation stage
Some retailers distinguish between covering USCIS filing fees and covering attorney fees for the full PERM process. Ask explicitly whether Hot Topic's sponsorship includes legal representation, since EB-2 and EB-3 filings involve substantive employer-side preparation costs.

Does Hot Topic sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Service Managements?
Hot Topic's documented sponsorship activity for Customer Service Management roles is concentrated in employment-based Green Card categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B. Customer service management positions in retail are generally classified under EB-3 as professional or skilled worker roles. If you're currently on an H-1B through another employer, a Green Card sponsorship offer from Hot Topic could support your longer-term permanent residence pathway.
How do I apply for Customer Service Management jobs at Hot Topic?
Applications go through Hot Topic's careers portal, where roles are listed by location and department. For sponsored positions, the clearest path is to filter for management-level openings and address your work authorization status directly in your cover letter or application notes. Migrate Mate also aggregates Hot Topic's open Customer Service Management roles that indicate visa sponsorship eligibility, which cuts down on screening time significantly.
Which visa categories does Hot Topic use to sponsor Customer Service Management professionals?
For this role category, Hot Topic has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. EB-3 is the more common pathway for management roles in fashion retail, covering positions that require at least two years of training or a bachelor's degree. EB-2 sponsorship is less frequent but available for candidates who can demonstrate advanced degrees or exceptional ability relevant to the management function.
What qualifications does Hot Topic expect for Customer Service Management roles?
Hot Topic typically looks for candidates with direct retail management experience, including overseeing service teams, handling escalations, and driving customer satisfaction metrics in a high-volume environment. Familiarity with pop culture, licensed apparel, or fan-driven retail is a genuine differentiator here. For sponsored positions, a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field strengthens both your application and the PERM eligibility classification.
How do I think about the sponsorship timeline for a Hot Topic Customer Service Management role?
If Hot Topic sponsors your Green Card through PERM, the process moves in stages: DOL labor market testing, PERM certification, I-140 petition with USCIS, and then adjustment of status or consular processing. The full cycle from offer to Green Card approval realistically spans two to four years depending on your country of birth and priority date movement. If you're on a visa with a short remaining period, discuss bridging options with Hot Topic's HR team early in the process.
