Frame your PM credentials around retail timelines
Hot Topic's program management work centers on seasonal product launches and licensed merchandise cycles. Highlight experience managing cross-functional timelines in apparel, consumer goods, or retail environments so your background maps directly to their operational rhythm.
Target roles that align with PERM eligibility
Hot Topic sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, both of which require PERM labor certification. Look for mid-to-senior Program Manager openings where the employer is more likely to invest in the multi-year sponsorship process, not entry-level or contract positions.
Research Hot Topic's open roles through Migrate Mate
Filter Program Manager listings at Hot Topic by sponsorship type using Migrate Mate, so you're only applying to roles where visa support is confirmed rather than inferred from a generic careers page that may not disclose sponsorship intent.
Prepare your degree evaluation before interviews
EB-3 petitions require DOL to certify your qualifications meet the job's minimum requirements. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation completed in advance so there are no delays when Hot Topic initiates PERM filing on your behalf.
Account for PERM processing time in your planning
DOL PERM adjudication currently runs six to twelve months before an I-140 can be filed. If you're on a status with a fixed expiration, map out whether your current work authorization bridges that window so you're not caught in a gap.

Find Program Manager at Hot Topic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hot Topic sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Hot Topic's documented sponsorship activity for Program Manager roles falls under employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B. That means their sponsorship path typically starts with PERM labor certification filed with the DOL, followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS. If you currently hold H-1B status with another employer, you can transfer that status independently while pursuing a Green Card through Hot Topic.
Which visa types are commonly used for Program Manager roles at Hot Topic?
Hot Topic sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for Program Manager positions. EB-3 covers roles requiring a bachelor's degree and is the more common pathway for program management work in retail. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or exceptional qualifications. Both require PERM labor certification before USCIS can adjudicate the I-140 immigrant petition.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Program Manager roles at Hot Topic?
Hot Topic typically looks for Program Managers with experience coordinating cross-functional projects in retail, fashion, or licensed product environments. Familiarity with seasonal go-to-market cycles, vendor coordination, and inventory or merchandising workflows is directly relevant. For PERM purposes, the role's minimum requirements become legally binding, so your background needs to meet whatever education and experience threshold is specified in the job description.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Hot Topic?
You can find Program Manager openings at Hot Topic filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship has been confirmed rather than assumed. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply through Hot Topic's careers portal and tailor your application to highlight retail program management experience, particularly around product launches, cross-functional coordination, and timeline ownership in fashion or consumer goods contexts.
How do I think about timeline when pursuing a Green Card through Hot Topic?
The PERM process alone takes six to twelve months with the DOL before an I-140 can be filed with USCIS. I-140 adjudication adds additional time, and if you're from a country with visa backlogs, the priority date queue extends the wait further. Starting this process while your existing work authorization has at least a year remaining gives you the most flexibility and avoids gaps in your ability to work legally.
