Earn a Concierge Society certification before applying
Les Clefs d'Or membership or candidacy signals professional credibility that Hyatt's hiring managers recognize immediately. Certifications strengthen your specialty occupation case and give immigration attorneys clearer grounds for H-1B support than work history alone.
Target Hyatt's full-service luxury properties first
Grand Hyatt, Park Hyatt, and Andaz properties are far more likely to run structured Chef Concierge hiring than select-service brands. Full-service locations have the headcount budgets and HR infrastructure to support visa sponsorship through the full filing process.
Request visa type clarity during the offer stage
Hyatt sponsors multiple visa categories for hospitality roles, so ask your recruiter which pathway they intend to use before signing anything. H-1B requires a specialty occupation argument, while TN works for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles without a lottery.
Prepare a destination knowledge portfolio in advance
Hyatt interviewers for Chef Concierge positions probe local expertise heavily. Document your restaurant relationships, cultural venue knowledge, and VIP logistics experience in a written portfolio you can reference during interviews and later include in your H-1B specialty occupation evidence.
Browse open Chef Concierge roles on Migrate Mate
Filter for Hyatt properties that have active visa-sponsoring roles in your target city. Migrate Mate surfaces sponsorship-verified listings so you're not cold-applying to locations that won't support a work visa petition.
Align your timeline with USCIS H-1B cap registration
Cap-subject H-1B registration opens in March each year, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. If you're pursuing a Chef Concierge role at a cap-subject Hyatt entity, your offer negotiation needs to account for that six-month gap between registration and start date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hyatt sponsor H-1B visas for Chef Concierges?
Yes, Hyatt has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas across its hospitality roles, including guest services and concierge functions. The key hurdle is satisfying USCIS's specialty occupation standard, which requires demonstrating that the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Candidates with hospitality management degrees and Les Clefs d'Or credentials are better positioned to clear that bar.
How do I apply for Chef Concierge jobs at Hyatt?
Applications go through Hyatt's careers portal, but listings don't always flag visa sponsorship eligibility. A faster approach is to browse Migrate Mate, which aggregates Hyatt's open Chef Concierge roles and identifies which properties have a track record of sponsoring international candidates. Apply directly through Hyatt's portal once you've identified the right property and role.
Which visa types does Hyatt commonly use for Chef Concierge roles?
Hyatt sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation cases, H-2B visa for seasonal guest services demand, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying hospitality categories, and J-1 visa for exchange visitors in structured training programs. For longer-term permanent residency pathways, Hyatt has also filed EB-2 and EB-3 labor certifications through the PERM process for experienced hospitality professionals.
What qualifications does Hyatt expect for a Chef Concierge position?
Hyatt's full-service properties typically require several years of concierge or front-of-house experience in luxury hospitality, strong local destination knowledge, and fluency in guest relations. Les Clefs d'Or membership or active candidacy is a meaningful differentiator. A hospitality management degree strengthens both your candidacy and any H-1B specialty occupation petition Hyatt's immigration counsel would need to file on your behalf.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Hyatt Chef Concierge role?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS currently runs several months, while premium processing can return a decision in about 15 business days for an additional fee. PERM labor certification for Green Card sponsorship can run one to two years or longer. Factor these timelines into your offer negotiation so your start date aligns with what the petition process realistically allows.
