- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accurate account reconciliation.
- Support general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, UltiPro, and Paychex, ensuring precision in payroll processing and compliance with tax regulations.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end closing procedures while adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls for internal audit readiness.
- Collaborate on budgeting activities and provide support for financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
- Assist in tax-related activities and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards for non-profit or public sector organizations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial software tools like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll management systems such as ADP or Ceridian along with experience in accounts payable/receivable functions.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and technical accounting principles.
- Strong data entry skills with proficiency in 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately while analyzing financial data for discrepancies or errors.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation.
