Target faculty and research roles first
University of Wyoming's sponsorship activity is concentrated in academic and research positions. Focus your search on faculty openings, postdoctoral roles, and research staff positions, these are where international candidates are most likely to find sponsorship support.
Understand the academic hiring calendar
University hiring in higher education follows a predictable cycle. Faculty searches typically open in fall for positions starting the following academic year. Applying early in the cycle gives you the best chance of being considered before sponsorship decisions are made.
Ask about H-1B support during the offer stage

Check if your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
H-1B eligibility at a university still requires a specialty occupation determination. Engineering, science, IT, and business roles typically qualify. If your role is interdisciplinary, clarify with the hiring department whether a degree requirement is formally tied to the position.
Explore J-1 as an entry point

Use Migrate Mate to find verified openings
