Align your credentials with ICHS requirements
ICHS serves multilingual, underserved communities, so clinical credentials paired with a second language or community health experience carry real weight. Get your foreign degree evaluated by a NACES-accredited agency before applying so your qualifications are clearly equivalent to U.S. standards.
Target roles matching your visa category
Healthcare roles at ICHS span nursing, behavioral health, and primary care, each with different specialty occupation thresholds under H-1B. Research which positions require a specific degree field rather than a general bachelor's, since that distinction determines whether your role qualifies.
Browse open Healthcare roles on Migrate Mate
ICHS posts Healthcare openings across multiple channels, but filtering specifically for visa-sponsoring community health employers takes time. Use Migrate Mate to surface current ICHS Healthcare roles filtered by sponsorship, so you're applying to positions already confirmed as sponsorship-eligible.
Ask about LCA timelines before accepting
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Confirm ICHS has begun this step before you give notice anywhere else, since LCA certification typically takes seven business days but can extend during high-volume periods.
Prepare for PERM if pursuing permanent residency
Community health organizations sponsoring EB-2 or EB-3 Green Cards must run a PERM recruitment process through the DOL, which can take a year or more before your I-140 is filed. Start this conversation with HR early so you understand whether ICHS initiates PERM or expects you to raise it.
Use OPT strategically for clinical rotations
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your Healthcare role at ICHS falls within your authorized field of study before your first day. USCIS requires that OPT employment directly relate to your degree program, and community health roles can span clinical and administrative functions that may not all qualify.

Find Healthcare at International Community Health Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does International Community Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, International Community Health Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Healthcare roles. ICHS operates as a Federally Qualified Health Center serving multilingual communities, and its clinical and behavioral health positions often meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B eligibility. Your degree field must directly correspond to the role you're hired into, so confirm that match before applying.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at International Community Health Services?
Start by identifying current Healthcare openings at ICHS that are open to visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate aggregates ICHS Healthcare roles filtered by sponsorship eligibility, which saves time compared to searching general job boards. When you apply, tailor your materials to ICHS's community health mission, highlight any language skills relevant to their patient population, and confirm sponsorship availability directly with the hiring team during the interview process.
Which visa types does International Community Health Services use for Healthcare roles?
ICHS has sponsored H-1B visas for specialty occupation Healthcare roles and has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. F-1 OPT and CPT are options for students in clinical or health administration programs, and TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Healthcare occupations listed under the USMCA.
What qualifications does International Community Health Services expect for Healthcare roles?
ICHS primarily hires for clinical, behavioral health, and community health roles requiring licensure or certification relevant to Washington State, such as RN, LCSW, or medical assistant credentials. For H-1B eligibility, your degree must specifically match your job function. ICHS also values experience serving diverse or low-income populations, and bilingual candidates often have a competitive advantage given the communities ICHS serves.
How do I estimate the timeline for visa sponsorship at International Community Health Services?
For H-1B, your employer files an LCA with the DOL first, which takes around seven business days, followed by the USCIS petition. Standard USCIS processing runs three to five months; premium processing cuts that to 15 business days. H-1B cap-subject petitions are only filed once per year in April, so timing your offer and start date around the cap cycle matters if you don't hold cap-exempt status.
