Target technical and engineering roles first
Keeley Construction's H-1B sponsorship activity has centered on specialized technical positions. Focus your application on roles like structural engineering, project engineering, or construction management where a degree-specific background makes sponsorship justifiable to USCIS.
Understand the specialty occupation standard for construction
Construction employers must demonstrate that a role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Highlight how your engineering or technical degree directly applies to the position, vague degree-to-role connections are a common reason H-1B petitions in this industry face scrutiny.
Apply well ahead of the H-1B cap season
H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting Keeley Construction, begin outreach in the final quarter of the prior year so hiring managers have time to move through interviews and internal approvals before the registration window opens.
Research which project divisions are actively hiring
Keeley operates across commercial, civil, and industrial construction. Identifying which division is growing or bidding on large contracts can signal where headcount needs are highest, and where sponsorship is most likely to be approved as part of a genuine hiring need.
Lead with your technical credentials, not your visa situation
Construction employers respond to candidates who demonstrate site knowledge, engineering competency, or project delivery experience. Frame your value around what you bring to a project first, your visa requirements become a process conversation once they want to hire you.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers in construction
Sponsorship track records vary widely across the construction industry. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and identify companies like Keeley Construction that have a demonstrated willingness to sponsor H-1B candidates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Keeley Construction sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Keeley Construction sponsors H-1B visas. The company has filed H-1B petitions for specialized roles in the construction and real estate sector, particularly positions requiring engineering or technical expertise. While Keeley is not among the highest-volume sponsors in the industry, its track record shows a genuine willingness to support international candidates in the right roles.
What types of roles does Keeley Construction typically sponsor visas for?
Keeley Construction's sponsorship activity has focused on technical and engineering positions where a specific degree is a genuine job requirement, think structural engineers, project engineers, and construction managers. Roles that require a defined field of study are more defensible under USCIS's specialty occupation standard, which is why sponsorship in construction tends to cluster in these areas rather than in general site or operations roles.
How do I find open sponsored positions at Keeley Construction?
The most reliable approach is to search for Keeley Construction directly on Migrate Mate, which tracks employers with verified H-1B sponsorship history and surfaces their open roles in one place. You can filter by visa type and industry to confirm current openings match your background before reaching out to the company's recruitment team.
How do I know if my role at Keeley Construction would qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
The key test is whether the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree. For Keeley Construction, this typically means engineering or a closely related technical discipline. If the role description says 'degree preferred' rather than 'degree required,' the petition becomes much harder to defend. Review the job posting carefully and, if possible, consult an immigration attorney before applying.
What is the H-1B application timeline if I receive an offer from Keeley Construction?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, Keeley Construction would need to register you in the annual lottery, which opens in March. If selected, the full petition is filed by June 30 for an October 1 start date. The entire process from offer to start can take six months or longer, so early communication with the company's HR team about timelines is essential for both sides to plan effectively.
