Obtain FINRA Licenses Before Applying
Kestra Financial hires Financial Consultants who hold active Series 65 or Series 66 licenses. Clearing these exams before your interview signals you're practice-ready and removes a common credentialing delay that complicates employer-sponsored visa timelines.
Target Kestra's Independent Advisor Network Directly
Kestra operates through a network of independent advisor offices rather than a single corporate hiring funnel. Reaching out to individual Kestra-affiliated practices, not just the corporate careers page, surfaces Financial Consultant openings that often go unadvertised nationally.
Align Your Experience With Kestra's Client Segments
Kestra advisors primarily serve high-net-worth individuals and small business owners. Framing your background around fee-based planning, retirement income strategies, or business succession strengthens your fit for the specific book-of-business model Kestra's offices use.
Understand the PERM Timeline for This Role
Financial Consultant positions at Kestra have supported EB-2 and EB-3 permanent residency sponsorship. PERM labor certification typically takes six to twelve months before USCIS petition filing, so raise the sponsorship conversation early in the offer stage, not after signing.
Browse Open Roles Using Migrate Mate
Kestra Financial lists active Financial Consultant openings you can filter by sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. Searching there surfaces roles from employers with a documented sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to positions where sponsorship is uncertain.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During Offer Negotiation
Some Kestra-affiliated offices sponsor visa costs directly; others route sponsorship through the parent entity. Ask specifically whether the office or Kestra's corporate structure will act as the petitioner, since this affects which DOL prevailing wage category applies to your role.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Kestra Financial sponsor H-1B visas for Financial Consultants?
Kestra Financial's documented sponsorship activity for Financial Consultant roles has been through permanent residency pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, rather than H-1B visa nonimmigrant sponsorship. If you're seeking H-1B support, clarify directly with the hiring office whether they're prepared to file a cap-subject or cap-exempt H-1B petition, as practices vary across Kestra's independent advisor network.
Which visa types are commonly used for Financial Consultant roles at Kestra Financial?
The sponsorship Kestra Financial has supported for Financial Consultants centers on employment-based immigrant visas, primarily EB-2 for candidates with advanced degrees or exceptional ability and EB-3 for professionals with a relevant bachelor's degree. Both require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition, so the full process spans multiple years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
What qualifications does Kestra Financial expect for sponsored Financial Consultant roles?
Kestra's Financial Consultant positions typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field, plus active FINRA licensing such as the Series 65 or Series 66. Practical client-facing experience in wealth management, retirement planning, or investment advisory strengthens your profile significantly. For EB-2 sponsorship, demonstrating an advanced degree or quantifiable professional recognition above the standard threshold matters at the petition stage.
How do I apply for Financial Consultant jobs at Kestra Financial?
You can search for open Financial Consultant positions at Kestra Financial through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by employers with a verified sponsorship history. Beyond the corporate careers page, Kestra's independent advisor offices post roles separately, so reaching out to Kestra-affiliated practices in your target market increases your chances of finding a sponsorship-eligible opening that suits your background.
How do I manage timing between my current visa status and a Kestra Financial sponsorship process?
If you're on OPT or another nonimmigrant status, coordinate your start date and the PERM filing schedule carefully. PERM alone can take six to twelve months, and USCIS processing for the I-140 petition adds additional time. Raise your current status expiration date with Kestra's HR team at the offer stage so they can sequence filings to maintain your authorized work status throughout the process.
