Align your credentials with FINRA licensing requirements
Kestra Financial professionals typically need Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. If your credentials were earned abroad, document the equivalency clearly before applying. FINRA allows international candidates to sit for exams, so get that process started early.
Target Kestra's independent advisor recruitment channels
Kestra recruits Financial Professionals through a network-based model, not just standard job boards. Reaching out directly to regional recruiting directors signals genuine interest in their independent broker-dealer structure and positions you as a serious candidate before a formal application exists.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Holding company structures like Kestra's can involve multiple legal entities, which affects which entity files the EB-2 or EB-3 petition. Confirm during later-stage interviews exactly which subsidiary would be your sponsoring employer before any offer letter is drafted.
Prepare for PERM's prevailing wage documentation early
EB-3 sponsorship for Financial Professionals requires a PERM labor certification, and DOL will benchmark your offered wage against prevailing rates for your geographic market. Pull DOL wage data for your target office location so you can flag any gaps with the hiring team proactively.
Build a compliant work history file for EB-2 eligibility
EB-2 for Financial Professionals requires demonstrating advanced degree equivalency or exceptional ability. Gather performance records, client assets under management documentation, and employer letters that speak to progressive responsibility, not just tenure, before your petition is filed with USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Financial Professional roles
Finding roles at firms with a real sponsorship history saves significant time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Financial Professional openings at Kestra Financial specifically, so you're only targeting positions where EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is a known, documented practice at the company.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Kestra Financial sponsor H-1B visas for Financial Professionals?
Kestra Financial's documented sponsorship activity for Financial Professional roles is concentrated in the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories rather than the H-1B visa. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, a transfer is possible, but you should confirm Kestra's willingness to file an H-1B transfer directly with their recruiting or HR team before advancing through the interview process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Financial Professional roles at Kestra Financial?
Employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, are the visa categories associated with Financial Professional sponsorship at Kestra Financial. EB-3 typically involves a PERM labor certification filed with DOL before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition. EB-2 may apply if you hold an advanced degree or can demonstrate exceptional ability in financial services. Your eligibility depends on qualifications and the specific role structure.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Financial Professional roles at Kestra Financial?
Kestra Financial operates as an independent broker-dealer, so Financial Professional candidates are expected to hold or be eligible for FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Practical experience managing client investment portfolios, a demonstrated book of business, or a background in financial planning adds significant weight. Kestra's model centers on independent practice, so candidates who can operate with autonomy and bring existing client relationships are prioritized.
How do I apply for Financial Professional jobs at Kestra Financial?
You can browse current Financial Professional openings at Kestra Financial through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship has been documented. Kestra also recruits through its own advisor recruitment team and industry networks. When you reach out, specify your licensing status, your sponsorship requirements, and any existing client relationships clearly. Kestra's recruiting process evaluates fit with their independent advisor model early, so demonstrating practice-building experience upfront accelerates the conversation.
How do I understand the timeline for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship at a company like Kestra Financial?
For EB-3, the process starts with PERM labor certification at DOL, which alone can take six months to over a year. After PERM approval, USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition, and then your priority date must be current before you can file for adjustment of status. EB-2 without PERM moves faster if you qualify. Your country of birth significantly affects wait times due to visa backlogs, so check the monthly Visa Bulletin from the State Department to model your timeline.
