Align your portfolio to autonomous systems infrastructure
Latitude AI's backend work centers on high-throughput data pipelines, real-time systems, and distributed computing at vehicle scale. Before applying, make sure your resume and GitHub reflect experience with those patterns, not generic CRUD or web application work.
Ask the recruiter about cap-subject versus cap-exempt filing
If Latitude AI is affiliated with a qualifying nonprofit or research institution for any of its work, some roles may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filing. Ask the recruiter directly during your first call rather than assuming all positions follow the annual lottery.
Find open Backend Software Engineer roles using Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to browse Backend Software Engineer openings at Latitude AI filtered by visa sponsorship type. This saves time you'd otherwise spend combing job boards where sponsorship availability is unconfirmed or buried in the application process.
Confirm TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Backend Software Engineer roles at Latitude AI can qualify under the TN visa category for Canadians and Mexicans if the position meets the Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer definition. Bring a detailed offer letter to the port of entry describing your specific technical duties.
Request a written sponsorship commitment before resigning elsewhere
Before giving notice at your current employer, get Latitude AI's sponsorship intent in writing in the offer letter. Verbal commitments are not enforceable, and H-1B transfers require your new employer to file a new I-129 petition with USCIS before your start date.

Find Backend Software Engineer at Latitude AI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Latitude AI sponsor H-1B visas for Backend Software Engineers?
Yes, Latitude AI sponsors H-1B visas for Backend Software Engineers. The company has a documented track record of filing H-1B petitions for technical roles. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, Latitude AI can initiate sponsorship before your authorization expires, but the cap-subject H-1B filing window opens only in March for an October 1 start date, so you need to account for that timeline when negotiating your offer.
Which visa types does Latitude AI commonly sponsor for Backend Software Engineers?
Latitude AI sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Backend Software Engineers. F-1 OPT and CPT are typically used during or immediately after a degree program, while H-1B is the primary long-term work authorization path. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status if the role meets the relevant occupational definition under USMCA guidelines.
What qualifications does Latitude AI expect for Backend Software Engineer roles?
Latitude AI's backend engineering roles typically require strong proficiency in languages like C++ or Python, experience with distributed systems, and familiarity with data pipelines or real-time processing at scale. Autonomous vehicle programs like Latitude AI's tend to prioritize engineers with backgrounds in systems programming, robotics infrastructure, or large-scale data ingestion over general full-stack experience.
How do I apply for Backend Software Engineer jobs at Latitude AI?
You can browse and apply for Backend Software Engineer openings at Latitude AI through Migrate Mate, which filters positions by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to Latitude AI's technical stack, specifically distributed systems and data infrastructure. Be ready to discuss your current visa status and work authorization timeline early in the recruiter screen.
How do I time my H-1B sponsorship if I accept a Backend Software Engineer offer at Latitude AI?
If you're on F-1 OPT, work backward from your OPT expiration date. USCIS accepts H-1B cap-subject petitions starting April 1 each year for an October 1 start date. If your OPT expires before October 1, you may need a STEM OPT extension to bridge the gap. Confirm with Latitude AI's immigration counsel whether premium processing will be used, which reduces adjudication time to roughly 15 business days.
