Align your portfolio to autonomy stack requirements
Latitude AI's engineering work centers on perception, planning, and runtime systems for autonomous vehicles. Before applying, make sure your portfolio highlights C++ or Python work in safety-critical or real-time environments, not just general backend or web projects.
Verify your OPT or CPT authorization window early
F-1 candidates should confirm their OPT start date aligns with Latitude AI's onboarding timeline. STEM OPT extensions give you up to 36 months total, but USCIS processing can take weeks, so apply before your initial OPT expires.
Target roles that map to your visa category
Latitude AI sponsors TN visas in addition to H-1B and F-1, which matters if you're a Canadian or Mexican engineer. TN status requires your job title to fall within a recognized NAFTA profession, so confirm your specific role qualifies before the offer stage.
Request the H-1B timeline during offer negotiation
If you're targeting the annual H-1B cap, your employer must file with USCIS by April 1 for an October 1 start. Ask your recruiter at Latitude AI when they initiate sponsorship paperwork so your start date aligns with the cap window.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Software Engineer roles
Latitude AI posts Software Engineer openings across multiple specializations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at Latitude AI that align with your visa type, so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare documentation that supports specialty occupation status
H-1B approval for Software Engineer roles hinges on demonstrating the position requires a specific degree in a related field. Gather transcripts, degree certificates, and any credential evaluations ahead of time so your employer's immigration counsel can file a strong I-129 petition.

Find Software Engineer at Latitude AI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Latitude AI sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Latitude AI sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the annual lottery, your petition must be registered by mid-March for an October 1 start. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Latitude AI can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Latitude AI?
Applications go through Latitude AI's careers page, where Software Engineer roles are listed by specialization, including areas like perception, autonomy infrastructure, and simulation. You can also browse and filter open positions with confirmed sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Tailor your resume to highlight systems-level programming experience and any background in robotics, autonomous systems, or safety-critical software before applying.
Which visa types does Latitude AI commonly use for Software Engineer roles?
Latitude AI sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Software Engineers. F-1 candidates on STEM OPT have the most flexibility given the 36-month window. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican engineers whose role falls within an approved NAFTA occupation category. H-1B remains the primary long-term sponsorship path for non-TN-eligible candidates.
What qualifications does Latitude AI expect for Software Engineer roles?
Latitude AI's Software Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field. Strong candidates have hands-on experience in C++ or Python and familiarity with real-time or embedded systems. For H-1B purposes, your degree field should directly relate to the specific role, so a degree in an unrelated discipline can complicate the specialty occupation determination.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap if I'm currently on OPT?
If you're on F-1 STEM OPT and targeting an H-1B, coordinate your application timeline so you have an offer in place before the March registration window. USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March each year. If you're selected in the lottery, your employer files the full petition by April 1 for an October 1 start date, which needs to fall before your OPT expires.
