Align your portfolio to AV-specific AI workloads
Latitude AI prioritizes engineers with hands-on experience in perception, prediction, or planning systems. Before applying, reframe your portfolio around real-time inference, sensor fusion, or safety-critical model deployment rather than general ML projects.
Verify your OPT or CPT start dates early
F-1 candidates targeting a Software Engineer AI role should confirm their OPT authorization timeline against Latitude AI's hiring cycle. USCIS recommends applying for OPT up to 90 days before your program end date to avoid gaps.
Target roles that map cleanly to your degree field
H-1B sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation with a direct link between your degree and the position. For AI engineering roles, a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field strengthens that connection significantly.
Ask about H-1B cap-exempt filing options during offers
If you're already on a valid H-1B with another employer, Latitude AI can file an H-1B transfer without waiting for the annual lottery. Clarify with the recruiting team whether your current status allows portability before you resign.
Use Migrate Mate to track open Software Engineer AI roles
Latitude AI's active openings shift frequently as the AV program scales. Use Migrate Mate to monitor current Software Engineer AI postings that explicitly include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live roles rather than outdated listings.
Prepare for LCA wage level scrutiny in the Bay Area market
DOL Labor Condition Applications for AI engineering roles in high-cost metros are benchmarked against prevailing wage data. Research the DOL's wage level definitions for your job zone so you can assess whether an offer's compensation aligns with what's required for sponsorship.

Does Latitude AI sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineer AIs?
Yes, Latitude AI sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer AI roles. The company has filed H-1B petitions for this function, making it a credible option for international candidates who need employer sponsorship. If you're subject to the annual H-1B lottery, timing your application around Latitude AI's hiring cycle matters, since USCIS registration opens each March for an October 1 start date.
Which visa types are commonly used for Software Engineer AI roles at Latitude AI?
H-1B is the primary long-term work visa for this role, but Latitude AI also supports F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students and recent graduates. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. Each pathway has different eligibility rules and timelines, so your best fit depends on your citizenship, degree, and current immigration status.
What qualifications and experience does Latitude AI expect for Software Engineer AI positions?
Latitude AI's Software Engineer AI roles typically require a strong background in machine learning, deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, and experience deploying models in production environments. Familiarity with autonomous vehicle systems, including perception, motion planning, or prediction pipelines, is a significant differentiator. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is generally expected for H-1B eligibility.
How do I apply for Software Engineer AI jobs at Latitude AI?
You can find and apply for Software Engineer AI openings at Latitude AI through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers and surfaces active Latitude AI listings. Once you identify a matching role, tailor your resume to highlight AI systems work relevant to autonomous vehicles, apply directly through the company's careers portal, and be upfront about your visa sponsorship needs during the initial recruiter screen.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Software Engineer AI role at Latitude AI?
For H-1B transfers from an existing visa, the process can move quickly since you're not lottery-dependent. For new H-1B petitions, you're tied to the annual April lottery cycle with an October 1 start date, meaning a gap of several months between offer and authorization. OPT authorization through USCIS takes up to 90 days to process, so F-1 students should plan their application timeline accordingly.
