Align your resume to battery tech stacks
LG Energy Solution Michigan's software roles center on embedded systems, battery management systems, and real-time data pipelines. Tailor your resume to reflect experience with C++, Python, or SCADA environments before applying, so your background maps directly to their engineering priorities.
Confirm OPT eligibility before your first interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your authorized employment end date before scheduling interviews. LG's onboarding timelines for engineering roles can run several weeks, and starting after your OPT expires without an approved H-1B creates a status violation.
Understand the LCA before negotiating your offer
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. The LCA locks in the prevailing wage for your specific role and location in Michigan, so your offered salary must meet or exceed that threshold or the petition won't proceed.
Target roles tied to USCIS cap-exempt pathways
LG Energy Solution Michigan's manufacturing and R&D divisions may post Software Engineer roles that support sponsored research functions. If a position qualifies as cap-exempt research work, you can avoid the H-1B lottery and file directly with USCIS outside the April registration window.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Software Engineer roles
Sponsorship-eligible Software Engineer positions at LG Energy Solution Michigan can be hard to identify on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for open roles at this company that are open to visa sponsorship, saving you time spent on applications that won't go anywhere.
Prepare credential equivalency documentation early
LG's Software Engineer requisitions frequently require a U.S. bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent. If your degree is from outside the U.S., obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before your offer stage so the H-1B specialty occupation requirement clears without delays.

Find Software Engineer at LG Energy Solution Michigan JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does LG Energy Solution Michigan sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, LG Energy Solution Michigan sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. The process follows the standard path: your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, registers you in the USCIS H-1B lottery each April, and submits the full I-129 petition after selection. Software engineering qualifies as a specialty occupation, which is a prerequisite for H-1B eligibility.
Which visa types are commonly used for Software Engineer roles at LG Energy Solution Michigan?
The most common pathways for Software Engineers at LG Energy Solution Michigan are H-1B for full-time hires, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in pre-offer or internship phases, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications. For longer-term permanent residency, the company has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at LG Energy Solution Michigan?
You can browse and apply for Software Engineer roles at LG Energy Solution Michigan directly through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions open to visa sponsorship. Applications typically require a resume and in some cases a cover letter. Roles in embedded systems, battery software, and manufacturing intelligence are the most actively recruited areas, so targeting those job families improves your chances of advancing.
What qualifications and experience does LG Energy Solution Michigan expect for Software Engineer roles?
Most Software Engineer postings at LG Energy Solution Michigan require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with embedded systems, C++ or Python, and familiarity with automotive or energy storage software environments is valued. For H-1B purposes, your degree must align specifically with the duties of the role, not just the general software engineering field.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship to join LG Energy Solution Michigan?
If you're targeting an H-1B, the USCIS registration window opens in March and the lottery runs in April, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. Factor in several weeks for LCA certification with DOL before your employer can even file the petition. Starting your job search at least six months before your current status expires gives you realistic runway to complete the full process without a gap in work authorization.
