Align your credentials to battery manufacturing standards
LG Energy Solution Michigan produces lithium-ion battery cells at scale, so document any coursework or project experience in electrochemical processes, cell assembly, or quality systems like IATF 16949. Credential alignment speeds up petition preparation and reduces RFE risk.
Target roles matching your specific engineering discipline
Manufacturing Engineer openings at LG Energy Solution Michigan span process, equipment, and quality functions. Apply to postings where your degree field directly maps to the role description, since H-1B specialty occupation petitions require a tight degree-to-job match.
Clarify CPT and OPT authorization before your first interview
LG Energy Solution Michigan hires F-1 students through CPT and OPT. Confirm your program start date and authorized period before applying, because mismatched work authorization dates are a common offer-stage complication that can delay or void a hire.
Request H-1B cap-subject filing details early
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, confirm with your prospective team whether they plan to register in the March lottery. Cap-exempt alternatives do not apply here, so missing the USCIS registration window means waiting a full year before the next filing opportunity.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
LG Energy Solution Michigan posts Manufacturing Engineer positions across several work authorization categories. Use Migrate Mate to filter those listings by the visa type you hold or need, so you only invest time in applications where sponsorship is actually on the table.
Prepare for PERM documentation if pursuing permanent residence
LG Energy Solution Michigan sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Manufacturing Engineers. PERM labor certification requires the DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers were available, so keep records of your unique process knowledge or specialized battery manufacturing skills throughout your employment.

Find Manufacturing Engineer at LG Energy Solution Michigan JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does LG Energy Solution Michigan sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
Yes, LG Energy Solution Michigan sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineer roles. Because these are cap-subject petitions, your employer must register you with USCIS during the annual March registration window. If selected in the lottery, the petition can be filed for an October 1 start date. Roles tied to university partnerships or government contracts may qualify for cap-exempt filing, but standard plant positions go through the lottery.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing Engineer roles at LG Energy Solution Michigan?
LG Energy Solution Michigan sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Manufacturing Engineer positions. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering categories under USMCA. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship through the annual lottery.
What qualifications are expected for Manufacturing Engineer roles at LG Energy Solution Michigan?
Most Manufacturing Engineer postings require a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or industrial engineering. Experience with battery cell production, automated assembly lines, or quality management systems such as IATF 16949 is valued. For H-1B petitions, your degree field must correspond directly to the specific role, so generalist engineering backgrounds may need supplemental documentation to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at LG Energy Solution Michigan?
Browse open Manufacturing Engineer positions at LG Energy Solution Michigan through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. Submit your application directly through LG Energy Solution Michigan's careers portal. Tailor your resume to highlight relevant process engineering and battery manufacturing experience, and be prepared to discuss your current work authorization status and timeline early in the recruiter screening call.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Manufacturing Engineer offer at LG Energy Solution Michigan?
Timeline depends on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization typically takes two to three months from USCIS after your school files the I-20 endorsement. H-1B cap-subject petitions take six to eight months from registration to the October 1 start date, with premium processing available to reduce USCIS adjudication to around 15 business days. PERM labor certification for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship can run six to eighteen months at the DOL before an I-140 petition is filed.
