REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
STATUS: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides leadership to the maintenance team by facilitating training activities, maintaining effective work procedures, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, supervising, training and performance reviews of maintenance supervisors to achieve maximum employee engagement.
- Organize and facilitate training activities for maintenance department.
- Initiate and maintain effective and proficient preventative maintenance work procedures for facility equipment.
- Work cooperatively with other maintenance leadership to develop daily and weekly operating priorities. Assign resources and track progress to ensure successful completion of these priorities.
- Participate in Hazmat operations and emergency preparedness.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate with supervisors on those potential changes.
- Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe working environment by promoting, adhering to, and holding employees accountable to those policies.
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback to Maintenance Supervisors and Leads during their shift on their performance and attitude.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Effectively communicate with HR and other supporting departments if conflict or dilemmas arise with employees in your charge.
- Manage employee timecards and time off requests.
- Perform employee disciplinary actions, including verbal, written, and suspension paperwork and all other required documentation.
- All other duties not listed but requested by Maintenance Management and Human Resources.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
- MUST possess a minimum of five years’ work experience in a maintenance field, including previous supervisory or management experience.
- MUST be familiar with manufacturing maintenance requirements.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
- MUST have knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOP’s and GMP’s.
- MUST possess refined skills in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing to all team members.
- Ability to motivate team members to drive and achieve production goals as well as be responsible for performance management of your team including goal setting and providing performance reviews yearly.
- MUST have exceptional time management and prioritizing skills.
- MUST know how to effectively utilize a personal computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- MUST be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.
- Ability to stand or walk for an entire 8-hour shift.
- Ability to reflect the values of our company in public settings.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in poultry or other food processing plants is highly preferred, but not required.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Maintenance Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or Karen are preferred but not required.
