Verify your license before applying
Texas requires state licensure for most clinical roles before you can start work. Confirm your credential is active with the Texas Medical Board or relevant licensing body, since Lone Star won't begin sponsorship paperwork until you're cleared to practice.
Target federally qualified health center roles
Lone Star operates as an FQHC, which means it serves high-need populations with federal backing. These organizations often have more flexibility in sponsoring visa holders than private practices, so frame your application around community health experience.
Align your specialty to underserved-area shortfalls
FQHC employers like Lone Star prioritize roles that address documented provider shortages. Roles in primary care, behavioral health, and dental consistently see demand. Matching your specialty to those gaps strengthens the case for sponsorship.
Clarify your OPT timeline in your application
If you're on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT, tell the hiring team your exact authorization end date upfront. Healthcare hiring cycles can run several months, and Lone Star needs to know whether an H-1B filing or TN renewal fits your timeline before extending an offer.
Understand the H-1B cap and FQHC exemption
FQHCs may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B employers, meaning they can file petitions with USCIS outside the annual lottery. Ask HR directly whether Lone Star files under cap-exempt status, since that changes your timeline and eliminates lottery risk entirely.
Find open roles through Migrate Mate
Browse current Healthcare openings at Lone Star Circle of Care on Migrate Mate, which filters jobs by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles compatible with your specific immigration status before you apply.

Does Lone Star Circle of Care sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, Lone Star Circle of Care has sponsored H-1B visas for healthcare roles. As a federally qualified health center, it may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B status, which allows filings directly with USCIS outside the annual lottery. Confirm with their HR team whether cap-exempt sponsorship applies to your specific role and specialty before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Lone Star Circle of Care?
Start by browsing open Healthcare positions on Migrate Mate, which lists Lone Star's current roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Once you identify a match, apply through Lone Star's careers portal and address your visa status directly in your cover materials. Proactively confirming sponsorship capacity early saves time for both sides.
Which visa types does Lone Star Circle of Care commonly use for Healthcare roles?
Lone Star Circle of Care has sponsored H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas for healthcare roles. TN status works for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical occupations. F-1 OPT and CPT apply to students completing healthcare-related programs. H-1B remains the most common long-term path for specialty occupation roles in clinical settings.
What qualifications does Lone Star Circle of Care expect for Healthcare roles?
Requirements vary by role, but clinical positions typically require an active Texas state license, relevant post-graduate training, and experience in community or primary care settings. Lone Star serves low-income and underserved populations, so candidates with federally qualified health center or safety-net experience stand out. Behavioral health, dental, and primary care specialties are consistently in demand across their clinic network.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Lone Star Circle of Care?
Healthcare hiring at FQHCs typically runs two to four months from application to start date, with credentialing adding time on top. If H-1B sponsorship is involved, USCIS standard processing can take three to six months, though premium processing is available for faster adjudication. TN renewals at the border are often same-day. Starting conversations with HR about your timeline early gives both sides room to plan.
