Align your credentials to Amgen's therapeutic areas
Amgen concentrates its pipeline in oncology, cardiovascular, and bone health. Framing your clinical or research background around these specific areas signals direct fit and strengthens the specialty occupation case your employer will need to make.
Target roles with a clear degree-to-job match
Healthcare roles at Amgen that involve regulatory submissions, pharmacovigilance, or health economics carry stronger specialty occupation arguments. A degree in pharmacy, epidemiology, or biostatistics paired with relevant experience reduces friction at the USCIS petition stage.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Healthcare roles at Amgen
Searching broadly across job boards wastes time on roles without sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Amgen Healthcare positions confirmed to be open to visa sponsorship, so you focus applications where they're most likely to result in an offer.
Document your publications and regulatory submissions early
Amgen's legal team will need supporting evidence when filing your petition. Compile authored studies, FDA submission contributions, or clinical protocol credits now. Gaps in documentation at filing slow down USCIS review and can delay your start date.

Find Healthcare at Amgen JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Amgen sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, Amgen sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Healthcare roles. To be eligible, your position must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning it normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job duties. Roles in regulatory affairs, clinical research, health economics, and pharmacovigilance consistently meet that bar. Amgen handles the H-1B petition filing on your behalf through its legal team.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Amgen?
Applications go through Amgen's careers portal at amgen.com/careers. You can filter by function and location to surface Healthcare-specific openings. If you want to confirm visa sponsorship eligibility before applying, browse Amgen's Healthcare listings on Migrate Mate, where roles are pre-filtered for sponsorship. Tailoring your resume to Amgen's therapeutic focus areas, particularly oncology and cardiovascular, gives your application the strongest signal of fit.
Which visa types does Amgen commonly sponsor for Healthcare roles?
Amgen sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and J-1 visas for Healthcare professionals, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. For longer-term pathways, Amgen also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. The visa category that applies to you depends on your nationality, degree level, and the specific role you're hired into.
What qualifications does Amgen look for in Healthcare candidates?
Most Healthcare roles at Amgen require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as life sciences, pharmacy, public health, or biostatistics, with advanced degrees preferred for senior positions. Amgen's pipeline focus on oncology, cardiovascular, and rare disease means therapeutic area experience carries significant weight. Regulatory affairs roles often require familiarity with FDA submission processes, while outcomes research positions favor candidates with published research or health economics modeling experience.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take once I have an offer from Amgen?
Timeline depends on your visa type. For H-1B, Amgen registers you in the March lottery, and if selected, files the cap petition by April 1 for an October 1 employment start. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often within a few weeks of offer acceptance since neither requires USCIS petition approval. If your role involves a future Green Card through PERM, DOL's labor certification stage alone can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing begins.
