Bucks and Marquette Basketball Shift Structure
Basketball games in the Fall through Spring are over half the events we have at Fiserv Forum. Support for concerts and other special events is needed as well but to explain the role and responsibilities we have laid out below the basketball cadence; there are two distinct shift types and you may be scheduled for either, or both on the same day.
- Court / Stats Setup — 7:00 AM–9:00 AM
Usually the morning of a game, but sometimes several days in advance depending on the Fiserv Forum event calendar and when the court is installed. Setup is checklist-driven and follows the Bucks SOP step-by-step.
Work includes:
- Running and dressing cable on the arena floor
- Deploying and connecting clock and timing equipment
- Deploying network equipment and headsets
- Setting up the stats tables (laptops, printers, headsets, etc)
- Deploying NBA specific technology
- Testing everything before handoff
-
Completing the internal gameday checklist
-
Event Support — 30 minutes before doors through approximately 1 hour after the event
For Bucks games, the shift runs through strike, roughly an hour after the final buzzer. For concerts and other events, the shift ends at food and beverage cutoff.
Work includes:
- Ticket entry support: troubleshooting handheld and pedestal ticket scanners, resolving ticketing and entry issues at the gates, assisting guests with app-related ticket issues, troubleshooting x-ray screening equipment, and checking and replacing ticket pod batteries before doors and during the event
- Guest service: answering guest questions about the arena — concessions locations, seating, amenities, and wayfinding
- General IT and network support: responding to issues anywhere in the building during the event, including printers and toner replacement, network drops, point-of-sale and back-of-house device issues, and escalating anything beyond the scope of the shift
- Strike: breaking down, coiling, and returning all court and stats equipment to the correct totes and storage locations after the event, following the SOP inventory

Target business and operations roles
The Bucks sponsor visa holders across corporate and operational functions, not just on-court talent. Focus your search on roles in analytics, finance, marketing, and team operations where international candidates with specialized degrees are most competitive.
Understand which visa types they support
The Bucks sponsor H-1B, Green Card, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. If you're on OPT or CPT, apply early, sports organizations often hire on a fixed seasonal cycle that doesn't wait for late applicants.
Align your background with specialty occupation standards
H-1B sponsorship requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Roles in data science, finance, software engineering, and sports analytics within the Bucks organization are typically the strongest fit for this standard.
Apply well ahead of NBA offseason hiring windows
Sports franchises tend to ramp up hiring after the season concludes. Timing your application for spring through early summer gives you the best chance of landing in an active hiring cycle when sponsorship decisions are being made.
Highlight quantitative and technical skills
The Bucks, like most modern NBA franchises, invest heavily in analytics and technology. Candidates with data, engineering, or finance expertise are most likely to be considered for roles where the organization has historically supported visa sponsorship.
Search for verified sponsoring employers before applying
Not every job posting at a sports organization will lead to a sponsored role. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your energy on opportunities where the Bucks have an actual track record.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Milwaukee Bucks sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, the Milwaukee Bucks do sponsor H-1B visas. Sponsorship at the Bucks tends to be selective and concentrated in roles that meet specialty occupation requirements, such as positions in analytics, technology, finance, and business operations. Candidates with a strong degree-to-role match in those areas are best positioned to be considered for H-1B sponsorship.
What visa types does Milwaukee Bucks sponsor?
The Bucks sponsor a range of visa categories including H-1B, Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals. This breadth of visa types means the organization can accommodate candidates at different stages of their immigration journey, from recent graduates on OPT to professionals seeking permanent residence.
Which departments or roles at Milwaukee Bucks are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at the Bucks is most common in corporate and technical functions rather than on-court or coaching positions. Roles in sports analytics, data engineering, finance, marketing, and team operations are the most frequent fit for visa sponsorship, as these positions align most directly with specialty occupation criteria that underpin H-1B and Green Card filings.
What does the visa sponsorship application timeline look like at Milwaukee Bucks?
The timeline depends on visa type. F-1 OPT and CPT can be activated relatively quickly once you have a job offer. H-1B sponsorship is subject to USCIS's annual cap and lottery, meaning the process from offer to work authorization can take several months. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is a longer-term process typically initiated after you've established yourself in the role.
How do I find visa-sponsored job openings at Milwaukee Bucks?
The most reliable approach is to search through a platform that verifies sponsorship history rather than relying on job descriptions alone. Migrate Mate lists open roles at companies like the Milwaukee Bucks and filters by actual visa sponsorship track record, so you can confirm the organization has sponsored the visa type you need before investing time in an application.
