Target roles in technology and data
Patterson Companies has historically sponsored candidates in technical and analytical roles supporting its distribution operations. Focusing your application on IT, data, or systems-related positions gives you the strongest chance of finding a sponsorship-eligible opportunity.
Understand the distribution and healthcare supply chain context
Patterson operates at the intersection of healthcare and wholesale distribution. Roles that require specialized knowledge in dental, animal health, or supply chain logistics are more likely to meet the specialty occupation threshold required for H-1B sponsorship.
Start your OPT job search early
Patterson Companies does accept F-1 OPT and CPT candidates. Apply well before your OPT start date to give the company enough lead time for onboarding and any required work authorization documentation, six to eight weeks is a reasonable minimum.
Ask about Green Card support during the offer stage
Patterson has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which typically indicate a longer-term employment relationship. Once you have an offer, ask HR directly whether permanent residence sponsorship is available for your specific role and level.
Filter for verified sponsors before applying
Patterson is a selective sponsor, so confirming sponsorship eligibility before investing time in an application matters. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find roles at companies like Patterson with confidence.
Canadian and Mexican nationals should explore the TN pathway
Patterson Companies sponsors TN visas, which offer a faster and less costly alternative to the H-1B for eligible Canadian and Mexican professionals. If your role falls under a qualifying TN category, raise this option early in your conversation with the recruiter.
