Align your resume to consulting deliverables
Qualus staffs Software Engineers on client-facing projects, so frame your experience around systems delivered, not just code written. Emphasize cross-functional collaboration, client environments, and project outcomes that translate to professional services work.
Confirm OPT or CPT authorization before applying
Consulting firms often have faster offer-to-start timelines than large tech employers. Have your OPT authorization documentation ready before your first interview so your start date doesn't slip past a project staffing deadline.
Target roles with defined technology stacks
Qualus posts Software Engineer openings tied to specific client engagements. Apply to roles listing the tools and platforms you specialize in rather than broadly. Specificity signals fit for a billable consulting position and strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation case.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
When an offer comes through, ask directly whether sponsorship covers just H-1B or also includes Green Card sponsorship through PERM. Consulting employers sometimes limit PERM support, so confirming this before you sign avoids surprises two or three years into the role.
Use Migrate Mate to filter active Qualus openings
Qualus posts Software Engineer positions across multiple locations and project types at once. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Qualus roles that support your visa category so you're applying to openings where sponsorship is already on the table.
Track your H-1B cap-gap status if OPT expires mid-project
If your OPT expires while you're mid-engagement at a consulting firm, cap-gap protection under USCIS rules keeps you work-authorized through September 30 of the H-1B lottery year. Notify HR early so project staffing is planned around your authorization window.

Find Software Engineer at Qualus JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Qualus sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Qualus sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineers. As a consulting and professional services firm, Qualus has an established path for supporting international candidates in technical roles. If you're already on OPT, you'd typically work under F-1 authorization first, with H-1B sponsorship initiated before your OPT period ends. Confirm the specific sponsorship commitment with your recruiter during the offer stage.
Which visa types does Qualus commonly use for Software Engineer roles?
Qualus supports several work authorization categories for Software Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 pathways. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and current status. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles without going through the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does Qualus expect for Software Engineer positions?
Qualus Software Engineer roles are tied to client engagements, so they typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience with specific platforms or technology stacks matters as much as the degree. For H-1B purposes, your degree must align with the role's specialty occupation requirements as defined by USCIS.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Qualus?
You can browse and apply for Software Engineer openings at Qualus through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions where your work authorization is supported. When you apply, tailor your resume to the specific technology stack listed in the job posting. Consulting firms like Qualus hire against client needs, so project-aligned experience gets prioritized.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship at a consulting firm like Qualus?
USCIS accepts H-1B cap-subject petitions in April for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT, your employer needs to file before your OPT expires, and cap-gap rules protect your authorization between April and October if your OPT runs out mid-year. Raise the sponsorship timeline with Qualus recruiters early in the process so PERM or H-1B preparation can start without last-minute delays.
