Align your credentials to power systems work
Qualus Service Engineer roles focus on substation commissioning, relay protection, and electrical testing. Before applying, verify your degree and experience map to electrical or power engineering, since a misaligned specialty can complicate specialty occupation approval during H-1B adjudication.
Target open roles across multiple regions
Qualus posts Service Engineer openings across utility-dense regions, not just major metros. Applying to field-based roles outside high-cost areas can mean faster hiring timelines, since teams in those regions often face greater urgency filling technical positions.
Raise sponsorship directly during the offer stage
Consulting firms like Qualus manage sponsorship through internal processes, not standardized offer language. Ask the recruiter which visa category they intend to file under and confirm the timeline before accepting, so you can plan around your current status expiration.
Build documentation around field project history
For EB-2 or EB-3 PERM filings, DOL requires evidence that the offered position meets minimum qualification standards. Document your hands-on commissioning and testing projects with verifiable employer records now, since PERM audits frequently scrutinize whether experience was gained in a substantially similar role.
Use Migrate Mate to filter live Service Engineer openings
Qualus posts Service Engineer roles regularly, but not all are flagged for sponsorship eligibility on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Qualus roles that support your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.

Find Service Engineer at Qualus JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Qualus sponsor H-1B visas for Service Engineers?
Yes, Qualus sponsors H-1B visas for Service Engineers. As a consulting and professional services firm operating in the power delivery sector, Qualus has filed H-1B petitions for technical roles. Service Engineer positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, given the requirement for a relevant engineering degree and specialized field knowledge.
Which visa types does Qualus commonly use for Service Engineer roles?
Qualus sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For new graduates, OPT or CPT authorization is the typical entry point. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering degrees. Long-term candidates may pursue PERM-based Green Card sponsorship after establishing tenure.
What qualifications does Qualus expect for Service Engineer positions?
Qualus Service Engineer roles generally require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with substation commissioning, protective relay testing, or power systems is strongly preferred. Field certifications and familiarity with NETA standards can strengthen your application, particularly for roles involving high-voltage equipment testing and utility client delivery.
How do I apply for Service Engineer jobs at Qualus?
You can browse and apply for Service Engineer positions at Qualus through Migrate Mate, which filters openings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to reflect specific commissioning and testing experience. Follow up with the recruiting team to confirm sponsorship availability for your visa category early in the process.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing sponsorship at Qualus?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, Qualus must file your petition during the annual USCIS registration window in March for an October 1 start date. That means your offer, Labor Condition Application approval from DOL, and petition preparation all need to align months in advance. If you're on OPT, ensure your authorization period covers the gap between your start date and potential H-1B approval.
