Align your credentials to U.S. engineering standards
If your engineering degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying. Qualus project roles often require licensure pathways, and a formal equivalency report strengthens your application from the start.
Target Qualus's power and grid practices
Qualus concentrates heavily in transmission, distribution, and substation engineering. Framing your resume around these specializations, rather than general civil or mechanical work, positions you for the roles where their active hiring is concentrated.
Browse open roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Qualus's Engineering openings by visa type so you can identify which roles are actively paired with sponsorship support, saving you from applying to positions where it isn't available.
Understand how PERM affects consulting roles
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 requires PERM labor certification, and DOL scrutinizes consulting firm filings closely because project-based roles must demonstrate a permanent position. Ask Qualus's HR team how they structure PERM petitions for engineering staff.
Verify your TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Several Qualus engineering titles fall under the TN visa's qualifying occupation list. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry without a petition, making it faster than H-1B if your role and credentials meet the DOL's defined TN engineering category.

Find Engineering at Qualus JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Qualus sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Qualus sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering roles. Because Qualus operates as a consulting and professional services firm, your H-1B petition will be tied to a specific position and work location. If you move between client sites, Qualus will typically need to file an amended petition with USCIS, so confirm this process with their HR team before you start.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Qualus?
You can apply directly through Qualus's careers page or browse their Engineering openings filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect power systems or infrastructure specializations relevant to their project portfolio. Mentioning your current visa status and work authorization timeline early in the process helps their recruiting team assess fit before extending an offer.
Which visa types does Qualus commonly use for Engineering roles?
Qualus supports several visa categories for Engineering positions, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage. Canadian and Mexican engineers should explore TN status given its speed advantage over the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does Qualus expect for sponsored Engineering roles?
Most Qualus Engineering roles require a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical, civil, or a related engineering discipline. Roles in transmission and substation work often expect familiarity with NERC standards, protection systems, or AutoCAD. Professional Engineer licensure is a differentiator for senior positions. If your degree is from outside the U.S., a credential evaluation report helps confirm equivalency upfront.
How long does the sponsorship process take for an Engineering role at Qualus?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. TN status can be obtained the same day at a port of entry. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow a fixed annual cycle, with filing in April and employment starting October 1 at the earliest. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically runs one to several years depending on your country of birth and DOL processing times.
