Align your experience to Riot's operational structure
Riot organizes Business Operations around specific game titles, regions, and publishing functions. Frame your resume around cross-functional program management, go-to-market operations, or strategic planning work that maps directly to how a gaming studio scales its business.
Prioritize roles that list LCA-backed requirements
Riot files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL for each sponsored hire. Roles that specify a bachelor's degree in a defined field strengthen your specialty occupation case, so target postings with explicit degree requirements over general business background preferences.
Secure an offer before your OPT or grace period expires
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period starts the day your OPT ends. Riot's hiring timelines for Business Operations roles can run six to ten weeks, so start your application process with enough runway to complete interviews and paperwork before your authorized stay lapses.
Prepare for a multi-round interview that tests operational depth
Riot's Business Operations interviews typically include a case study or analytical exercise alongside behavioral rounds. Have documented examples of process improvements, cross-team program launches, or data-driven planning work ready, since vague answers about strategy rarely advance in these loops.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Business Operations roles by sponsorship type
Not every Riot posting clarifies which visa categories apply to a given role. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Riot Games Business Operations positions by visa type, so you can confirm H-1B, E-3, or TN eligibility before investing time in a full application.
Confirm your visa category fits the role before accepting an offer
Riot sponsors multiple visa categories, but not every category fits every role or timeline. If you're on TN status, confirm the Business Operations position maps to an eligible USMCA occupation category before your offer letter is drafted, since TN reclassifications after signing create delays.

Find Business Operations at Riot Games JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Riot Games sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Riot Games sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery and also files cap-exempt petitions in qualifying circumstances. Because the H-1B lottery is competitive, candidates already on valid status through F-1 OPT, TN, or E-3 are often better positioned to secure a role without waiting for lottery selection.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Riot Games?
Applications go through Riot's careers site, where Business Operations postings are listed under Business and Operations categories. Tailor your resume to show cross-functional program management, operational strategy, or analytical planning experience. You can also browse Riot's current openings filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles confirmed to sponsor international candidates.
Which visa types does Riot Games commonly use for Business Operations roles?
Riot Games sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Business Operations positions. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which has no lottery and renews in two-year increments. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations can pursue TN status, which is employer-sponsored but processed at the border or port of entry.
What qualifications does Riot Games expect for Business Operations roles?
Riot typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field for Business Operations positions. Senior roles often expect experience in gaming, entertainment, or technology company environments. Familiarity with go-to-market operations, cross-functional program management, or business planning in a fast-moving product organization is consistently valued across posted requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Riot Games Business Operations hire?
Timeline depends on the visa category. H-1B petitions filed under regular processing take three to six months after the October 1 start date; USCIS premium processing reduces adjudication to 15 business days. E-3 consular appointments in Australia currently run two to four weeks in most cities. TN status for Canadian nationals is processed at the port of entry on the same day, making it the fastest path where the role qualifies.
