Frame Your Experience Around Cross-Functional Impact
Qualcomm's Business Operations roles sit at the intersection of engineering, finance, and go-to-market teams. Tailor your resume to show you've translated technical complexity into business decisions, not just managed processes or tracked milestones.
Verify Your OPT Start Date Against Hiring Timelines
Qualcomm's interview-to-offer cycle can run several weeks. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining work authorization covers the full onboarding window before accepting, since a gap between OPT expiration and H-1B activation can affect your start date.
Target Roles That List LCA-Eligible Wage Levels
DOL Labor Condition Application filings are public record. Business Operations titles at large semiconductor firms like Qualcomm tend to cluster at specific wage levels. Cross-referencing posted salaries against prevailing wage data helps you gauge whether sponsorship is structurally viable for a given role.
Search Verified Sponsoring Employers Before Applying
Use Migrate Mate to filter Business Operations openings specifically at companies with a confirmed sponsorship history. Applying to roles where sponsorship is already verified saves time and avoids late-stage surprises when recruiters confirm their policy.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Recruiter Screen
Some employers sponsor H-1B transfers but not new cap-subject petitions. Ask directly whether Qualcomm will support a cap-subject filing or only a transfer, so you can plan around the April 1 filing window and avoid committing to a start date that doesn't align.
Prepare for PERM Timing If You're Planning for a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 PERM filings require DOL-supervised recruitment and can take 12 to 18 months before a petition is filed. If permanent residency is part of your plan, raise that goal early in offer negotiations so you understand Qualcomm's internal timeline for initiating PERM for Business Operations staff.

Find Business Operations at Qualcomm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Qualcomm sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Qualcomm sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company files both cap-subject petitions for new visa holders and H-1B transfers for candidates already in H-1B status. Business Operations positions at Qualcomm typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, given the degree requirements tied to strategy, planning, and cross-functional execution work.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Qualcomm?
Applications go through Qualcomm's careers portal at qualcomm.com/careers. Search by function using terms like 'business operations,' 'strategy,' or 'planning.' Roles are posted at the individual business unit level, so checking regularly gives you the best coverage. Migrate Mate also aggregates Qualcomm's open Business Operations positions and filters for visa sponsorship eligibility, which streamlines the search process.
Which visa types does Qualcomm commonly use for Business Operations roles?
Qualcomm sponsors a range of visa categories for Business Operations hires, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Singaporean and Chilean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in their academic program or grace period. For longer-term paths, Qualcomm supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process at the DOL.
What qualifications does Qualcomm expect for Business Operations roles?
Most Business Operations positions at Qualcomm require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related field, with an MBA preferred for senior roles. Qualcomm values candidates who can operate across technical and commercial teams, so experience translating product or engineering data into operational decisions carries weight. Cross-industry background in technology or semiconductor environments is a common thread across posted job descriptions.
How do I time my application if I need H-1B sponsorship?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March, with USCIS beginning selection in late March and approved petitions taking effect October 1. If you're on OPT, apply to Qualcomm at least four to six months before your OPT expires to leave room for an offer, USCIS registration, and potential cap-gap coverage under your F-1 status while the petition is pending.
